Just tried out the new Trench Shotgun
I used the Shotgun Slug and added the "Barrel Widening Attachment" (both for the extra up-close damage). Seems to drop all the high level animals with one shot when up close. Probably could be called the instant rug. I just have to test it on the polar bears, but it will make a great backup to the rifle. Will be interested to hear from others who've tried other ammo or attachments. I'm wondering what the exploding ammo is like?

how about a tier 3 AND a tier 4 pistol.
3 rifles, 3 shotguns, 1 pistol.

Well...what ABOUT knives? If knives are so great, then why didn't human weapon development just stop right there? Why did humanity ever invent bows, staves, swords, maces, pikes, crossbows, catapults, trebuchets, bombs, cannons, muskets, pistols, rifles the list goes on and on.

If knives are so great, then why do those other things exist? Because in many ways, they're better. Haven't you ever heard the phrase "bringing a knife to a gunfight"? If you're disadvantaging yourself when other better options exist, then it doesn't make sense to complain about being at a disadvantage.

I never understood those who prefer to get up close and personal (knife fighters). Nothing wrong with it if you need the adrenaline rush, just doesn't work for me.

Yesterday I did a run thru the Southern arctic region and took down several polar bears, several scorpions and a mammoth. Would have gotten more but my inventory was full. Took down the bears and mammoth all with one shot, one kill using a rifle from stealth mode. The scorpions were a bit more challenging but the shotgun made up the difference.

hell with the guns? zombygunner you can't kill a polar bear mammoth wolf bear or any animal like that with a knife spear maybe. the only animal you can kill with a knife is a little rabbit

that phrase "bringing a knife to a gunfight"? there is a flip side to that. if the person with the knife is standing like with in ten yards in front of a person with a gun the time it takes you to pull your gun out the person with the knife will stab you. please correct me if i'm wrong that's just herd a long time ago

I don't know where you heard this, but you were absolutely, undeniably lied to. If you and I were standing 10 yards, roughly 9m, or 30 feet from each other...and you had a knife...already drawn...and I had a handgun still in it's holster...

If I waited until the moment I saw you move, I would have enough time to draw the weapon ready it and fire between 2 and 6 rounds (depending on the type of handgun) before you got to me. That isn't a guess made by me, that's not some armchair CoD player in the basement thinking "I bet I could do that". I'm not even very fast and I CAN do it. I'm trained to do it.

Don't believe what you see in movies, tv shows or comic books. That will get you killed. It's an important lesson taught by the military, professional fighters and firearms instructors.

i never said that i believe what i see in movies tv or comic books is real. i know i'm not a dumb ass and go try what i see in a movie or a video game i know the difference between a game a movie and real life. if a person thinks they can do what they do in a game such as cod or gta in real life they need help and a serious reality check. and like i said i don't believe what are in movies and i can give a crap less what a cod player thinks

Yeah, apparently. Haven't made one yet myself. My old open world map bugged out and I had to delete it. Luckily I didn't have any workshop gear deployed there.

I'll have to start a new base from scratch and build me one. Seems neat.

I just worked out a safe way to clear an area of multiple animals with the shotgun. Just build or buy a dropship recall beacon, call it to the affected area, get a few animals to run towards you, jump inside the drop ship, then they just run around the drop ship (which takes no damage) and every time they pass the open door you smoke them with the trench shotgun. Works great on polar bears and snow scorpions.

How much ammo does your character carry for the shotgun?
