Roof Collapse In Snow
What is the best way to prevent roof collapses from snow? Building with stone currently. Thanks.

That's it? That's all I needed to do this whole time?

You can get by with flat roofs, but they need heavy reinforcement with beams. Like Newsush said, having a slopped roof will alleviate the problem too. Ever seen an A-frame house? They're specifically designed that way so the snow slides off and doesn't crush the house.

You can also get on your roof with a shovel and clear the snow after storms if you insist on a flat roof. Yes, that is a thing you can do in game.

Thanks. And for the record, I live in an A-Frame house in an area that snows. I guess I should have known. =/
1) Icarus calculates mechanical loads in a fairly realistic way, and yes, snow gives additional mass loading.
In this case, from the bottom of the ground to the point of failure, the entire structure should be 'vertically pierced' with stone or concrete beams to reinforce it.

This is best done at the corners of the building.
