No we can not play once a week, it`s every 2 weeks during the beta weekends.
And no you are not paying money to just play during those betas, you also get the full game once it releases.
Q: Can we get a refund during the Beta Weekends?
A: Yes.
You can play Icarus during our Beta Weekends for as many hours as you like, with the ability to get a refund on your Pre-Order anytime up until launch day. From launch day, normal Steam refund processes apply.
Yea definitely sounds like a scam :/
To be fair he hasn`t even paid anything, so not sure why he is complaining saying i am paying money to play weekends, Instead of why should i pay.
It started long before fortnite, call of duty says hi. Dayz by the way is peeking as well.
People have paid for their pre-order. The bet access is an added benefit, not only that, it allows us to listen to our community (you!) and make the game better before launch day. It's an important stage of video game development.
If participating in our beta weekends isn't for you, that's okay! I hope you have fun playing Icarus if you do decide to purchase on launch day or beyond.
So don't buy it thats your choice but us there any reason to whine on steam about it?
The idea behind weekend betas is the game was not ready for the original release so they delayed it and let people test it so they can fix it and if in November people dont wanna buy it they refund.
They could have taken the route most companies take which is release it as EA so after you have played longer than 2 hours you cannot refund.
