Electric Drills

All of my electric drills stopped working. I didn't change anything to the power and all the drills show connected, but do not turn on. I even powered one by itself and shows connected but still does not work. Is there a fix for this?

The only time a drill should turn off when it has power is if they're full of ore or the node has been emptied. If they all stopped working at once it's probably not either so definitely a glitch/bug.

The power grid can be pretty sketchy if you're constantly connecting and disconnecting things. That is why all of my drills are on their own power network separate from my base.

Things you can try:
Just restarting the game has worked for me when I experienced something similar. Reconnect things the way they need to be and then just log out.

Picking the drills and/or the power generator up and reconnecting the cables have worked for other people.

Fully running a new set of cables has worked for others. I'd try just cutting the cable back a few nodes and reconnecting before just replacing everything. If the nodes have disappeared from the cables you'll have to log in and out a few times to try and get them to reappear.

I have just checked all mine. I have about 15 and all are working except for the salt drill. Very strange. I've done the usual and rewired it. I removed then added the drill etc. I also put it on it's own power supply with double the required but it won't start. It's only the salt drill though.

Edit: I relocated the salt drill to another salt node and it worked. Now i'm wondering if the node just ran out? If so i didn't get much out of it, around 3,000.

Does an emptied vein give a visual indicator that it is in fact out of ore?

Pretty sure my silica ran dry but shows nothing to confirm it other than not functioning.

I don't think so. Someone said that if you look at the vein itself and not at the extractor it displays the remaining capacity, but I can't reproduce it.

In open world i have like 25 deep mining drills and only 1 out of them isnt working the other been drilling for weeks now

Early on when first released the cores were limited in amounts, these days it seems they are unlimited, I've never run out once I placed a drill these days.

I have drills that have stopped working, as well as a shocking revelation, my iron deep ore stopped working, went through metamorphosis and is now a platinum deep ore vein...really strange

Reloading the game has some weird effects sometimes, especially after a patch

my iron ore one stopped working all the rest are still going

i have 5 now stop working and there are empty so no idea why there no longer working

Good morning.

I am experiencing drill breakdowns.
These are correctly supplied with energy but some drills refuse to work.
This problem cannot be corrected by isolating the drill with two wind turbines.

Exotic ore extractors seem to have the same problem.
I was able to start drilling an exotic deposit but the drills stopped working after a game restart.
The deposit is still active and I have no energy problem.

got the same problem - anywhere from 1 or 2 on a map that suddenly does not work - tested a swap with a biofuel, did not work, to a full map that came to a halt... :(

i think they ran out of ore to mining i got 25 all stop working no ore for few days now wish there was a way to see it it ran out of ore

I have noticed that all the furnace types have to be restarted after restarting the game. Also the heavy heater & cooler too. I have wondered if this is a bug, or done by design for some reason?
