dx11 or dx12?
I was playing this game only with dx11 but when i had RTX 2070. Now i have upgraded to Rtx 4070 super and i am in doubt which dx version to use. With Rtx 2070, dx11 i had solid performance in game on medium-high settings. I play on 1080p.

Somewhere in the dev notes, they state the game was built under DX11. "More stable," IIRC. I played it under DX12 and noticed no difference whatsoever. Switching APIs is not going to make the game any sweeter, and, in fact, may cause problems, depending on other factors.
DX12 is just a multi-core version of the DX11 renderer. Otherwise, there are no fundamental differences. So if you have problems in DX12 mode, but no problems in DX11 mode, then all complaints should be addressed to Microsoft, which made this low-quality 'knock-off' to artificially create backward incompatibility with WIN7.
Also because of this DX12 is very dependent on the speed of interaction between physical CPU cores. If anyone is interested, you can read what is (CPU core-to-core latency) and on which CPUs it is large and on which it is small.

Have been playing since Launch, at launch DX12 had performance issues therefore I have avoided. At this time after few performance patches, later DLSS and frame generation implementation and t he fact DX12 mode is an only mode carrying ray tracing option, if you want all of the eye candy and have adequate GPU to run the feature, there is no reason not to play on DX12, 4070 super not only supports frame generation giving you significant boost over 20 series, it is also more than powerfull enough to run the game with all ray tracing at 1080p, not sure what CPU you have to match the RTX 4070 super. Personally, I am playing on 5120x1440 , all ultra with ray tracing with DLSS and frame gen on in DX12 mode without and issue. It looks incredible, I am running on RTX 4090.

I use i5 14600kf paired with 32 gb ddr5 and rtx 4070 super, today i tried only dx11 and had 120-160 fps max details, only post processing on medium. No DLSS. I had very smooth gameplay, almost no stutters. Tomorrow i will check dx12. Thanks for info.

DX12 mode is bad atm, I have a 5800x3d 4070ti and 32gb samsung ram and my game crawls under dx12 mode but runs fine in dx11 mode.

Tier 4 base with about 30 windmills and a dozen mining drills.
