If you don’t like the terminology for designating updates, then you can make a similar proposal to the Steam platform so that they come up with new designations so that all developers can then use them.
That's just terminology.
New functionality would be a major revision change, things that didn't exist before are a major revision change.
Bug fixing and cosmetic changes, with no new functionality, would be minor revisions.
So if you introduce a new Father Christmas suit that's a major revision but fixes to it with nothing else included would be a minor.
And use sunscreen!
This was the standard chosen during the beta weekends, when we had not planned the break-neck pace of weekly updates. The weekly update cadence would only be adopted later.
This is also standard for our other games at the studio, it is just only Icarus that currently does major updates every week.
And i can already get it at level 1 , wow take all my money for this MAJOR UPDATE
why not call it a Item update or a minor update
I appreciate the response, truly i do. Though, I'm not sure what it actually means.
Are you saying if you add 3 cosmetics, and do no additional fixes or content updates you justify calling it a "major" update? Do you see how it comes off as disingenuous and click-baity to call such obviously small changes as "major"?
Cheers. (i do really enjoy the game; friends as well)
