what to get in the desert?

so i found the desert and from what i have seen so far...theres no reason to be here. just the same old stone, iron, ect in the caves.
is there a desert unique item i need to be gathering?

About the only thing I can think of is certain vegetables grow there, like squash. But you could just order seeds in the workshop without the hassle of going there.

I can't really think of any other desert specific resources. You go to the desert to accomplish tasks there.

The desert in the upper northeast corner of Olympus was nightmarish the first time I went there. Wood was hard to get, fiber too, and the animals seemed to spawn endlessly. With the right gear, talents, and precautions, it's a cakewalk now.
