Operations locked?

Just came back to the game and was trying out the open world content. I see alot of operations that are simply locked with no explanation. It doesn't say mission only and I have the required tech + both upgrades for the mission station. They're locked nonetheless. Is there some other hidden requirement for certain missions?

Not all missions were converted to Operations. None of the exploration missions in particular were converted because they are free-roam missions with no actual objective -- kind of like the Open World you're already using. Once you unlock those Exploration nodes they're considered complete and the missions/operations branching off of them become available.

If you're looking at points literally called Operations that are locked unless you've already completed the operations as missions you still need to progress up the Operation tree. Olympus is follow the lines left to right and only around 20 of the 60 missions were converted to Operations. Styx is from the center out and I think less than 5 didn't convert to Operations. And Prometheus is back to left to right progression but all 14 missions are available as Operations.

And of course you can only complete each Operation one time while on an Open World map. If you wish to complete it again you need to create a new Open World map. In this case think of the Open World maps as a much larger mission with unlimited time.

If you're positive it's not one of those cases, please link us a screen shot so we can help troubleshoot.

I'm showing nomad expedition completed (first quest) but none of the other ones are unlocking

Would you snap a picture of the operation screen to show this? The only one that completion should unlock is OFFENDER: Investigation.

Hello, I have also been experiencing issues with missions being locked. I am currently working my way through Olympus and am level 21. I have completed several missions but than noticed that a few have just locked to my progression, these being the Accumulation mission and the Deep Vein mission.

Are you looking at them as new Missions or as Operations via a C0NT4CT Device? Snap a screenshot if you would please.

Here's how it looks like: the everything behind the WATERFALL mission either locked, or mission complete or not available in open world mode. The WATERFALL itself is also complete :/

It looks like you playing on a shared map and you haven't been present for every operation completion. The little grey checkmark in the top right of the mission boxes indicates you have never completed it. When you do complete a mission/operation that mission/operation checkmark will turn gold.

In the image several of the missions are marked "Mission Complete" but still show a grey checkmark. This is because someone else on the map has finished the operation while you were not present and you do not get credit for completion if you are not present. Also operations can only be completed once per map so the "Mission Complete" indicates it cannot be done again on this map.

As for the different lock symbols -- PAYDAY the top one you have arrows pointing at with the red circle with a slash through it is not an Operation. So it is never available in Open World, you must complete it as a Mission.

LIFE LINE the bottom one you have an arrow pointing at shows "Mission Complete" so someone else has already finished this Operation on this open world and you cannot repeat it. You need to either start a new Open World to run this Operation yourself, or just run it as a Mission.

RAMP UP the last one you've got an arrow pointing at with the padlock symbol is simple enough to understand. This mission will become available once you have completed the mission before it, WATERFALL.

To activate RAMP UP someone else who has WATERFALL complete needs to start the Operation, or you need to go run WATERFALL as a mission or in a new Open World to get credit for yourself before coming back and starting RAMP UP.

off-topic, I don't like / won't complete missions like "Ramp up" which ask you to manufacture tons of material, and then throw it away to orbit. If I go through that much trouble, I want to keep the stuff, for my own construction projects :)

That totally makes sense. So yellow text "Mission complete" means it was done in my open world, but the fact I have not yellow checkmark means it got no award for it and therefore can't count it as done?

Similar issue, but i've solo played everything. Just came back after a few months, and for some reason about 11 missions aren't available via Missions OR Outpost (Contact Device). They just have strange nondescript grey padlocks.

It doesn't mater which mode, they are just locked?

For the Preservation mission on the left you don't have the Solid Metal mission just to the left of it completed. The line traces right back to it and the checkmark in the corner of Solid Metal is not gold.

Might be a Steam thing. Go to your Icarus Steam settings and hit the DLC tab. Confirm everything is checked and installed. That will let you confirm you actually have all the DLC you need. The mission is a separate free DLC gifted by buying the pet bundle's two DLC.

If you don't, that's your problem. If you do, it might be a customer service call.
