The solution to the numbered list of yours above is... unlock and craft workshop items from orbit.
Save your credits from missions, and start buying workshop items.
if you buy even the junky first knife, the MXC knife, you can cross #2 off on every mission from then on.
Buy a bow, and unlock buying arrow packs, and you can cross #1 off, and be able to easily (depending on your talents) do #3 and #4 easier. The aruda arrow pack is best. Steep price to unlock the blueprint, but the arrow packs are only 10 credits for 25 arrows to craft after that. Super super super cheap, and they are VERY good arrows. Not the best in the game, but for 10 credits, they're awesome.
Eventually you save up to buy the workshop oxygen bottle. You won't be able to fill it with oxygen until you build the tier 2 oxite dissolver (the tier 1 has no slot for bottles).
But once you do have it charged, it will _keeps it's oxygen_ between missions. If you end the mission with the bottle 3/4's filled, it will still have 3/4's oxygen when you start the next mission. Then the entire hassle of running around to find oxite is pretty much gone. You can concentrate on other things, like getting a temporary base set up for the mission.
I still don't understand how to get leather and bone, tho. I killed a buffalo and hacked at it with axe, pick, and went thru multiple knives until I finally suffocated.
How do I harvest animals?
Knife count as shining tool.
Majority of these are not a problem once you experience enough or got the workshop gear
I hunted my first animals (2 rabbits) and using the knife it gave me fur, not leather. I have looked up the items library and it seems there's fur and there's leather, but i need this second to craft the oxidizer...? Do i have to hunt other kind of animals or what?
Sincerely, the game is awful giving at least some initial instructions. You are just dropped on a forest and...good luck, you played other (Unreal Engine) survival games? well, try the same things you did there more or less. If not, fck you.
Combat feel clunky, btw.
And why are the animals around me so high level? I am seeing level 40-70 wolves around, and that at the very start of the game. Balance seems inexistant, also.
How do i get all the items from a container at once without having to click the button? Is there any hotkey or what? Also, how to choose an amount of items to divide an stack? I have found that i can use Ctrl to move a stack to another container, and i think it was Alt to get half of a stack, but nothing more.
Ah, also i have seen stones and ore floating (and high, i mean), wood jumps away from me when i cut it like if physics were badly programmed, and i can't even see when i look to the ground to gather that wood because there is always something above it that hides it visually, specially bushes. I am constantly hitting "F" to gather again and again just to clean the ground so i can see anything because i can't even choose what to gather from there. I believe there is even more garbage at the ground than in ARK.
Sincerely, for a game that has so many and well priced DLC's i thought this was finished and does not even has a tutorial. I suppose the devs were busy making all those DLC's to sell as much as possible , because the base game seems that lacks even the most basic things. I have played cheap indie survivals much polished and informative than this. 140 eur in DLC's...and the base game in this state...oh, come on.
At least, after having read so many complaints about perfomance, in my case i managed to get between 55-60fps mostly stable (with DX11) so that's something but the rest...it feels like a work in development, frankly. A game in early access with 140 eur in DLCs, more precisely :P
Edit: i just got stuck on a tree while crouched, can't move at all. I had to cut down the tree to free my char. Wonderful :S
