Options for connecting wind turbines
I'm still fuzzy on the whole electrical grid concept. Sometimes my wiring works, other times it does not. I have to carry a small electrical lamp with me to text that my power lines are transmitting power as I progress.

I now have a suite of wind turbines set up. My thought was that each would be connected to a single point, and I would then draw current from that point to my base. But this is very unwieldy and I'd prefer a simpler approach. Could I, for example, daisy chain each of the turbines together and just have the last one deliver power to the house? That hasn't seemed to work for me.

Could someone explain the most efficient way to handle a large number of turbines that results in a single power line headed home?

Thanks for any insights or suggestions!

Each energy consumer or energy generator in this game allows only one connection to it. Therefore, it is necessary to use ‘washers’ because they allow multiple connections.
Personally, as a rule, I reduce all connections from power generators to one or two ‘washers’, and only then I run one wire from it to the house.

What's a "washer"? Is that like a constellation of connections?

If I create a single point and then connect all my generators to that point, and then run a single line from that point to my house, will I be able to line the house with "outlets" connected to that line, and plug in consuming devices to it? Is that viable?

‘Washer’, ‘connection point’, ‘wheel where pipes and wires are connected’ = ‘washer’.

Why not? Perhaps I misunderstand something, but the way you described everything is how they do it.

I like to call them "Pucks" like a hockey puck because visually they look and are sized similar.

You can absolutely have a single line that everything connects to. How you do it determines how neat the system looks. What you want to do is create a main trunk line that everything will connect to first by placing a puck next to where each of your turbines will connect. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3124335583 I did that in this case by spiraling a line from top to bottom on this tower. I placed a trunk puck on each face of the tower as it spiraled around just below the bottom of the stairs. Then each branch with a wind turbine is connected to the nearest puck on that face. So each trunk puck has a line going up the tower, down the tower, and two wind turbine connections - one from the platform next to the stairs (far left in picture), and the other from the extended beams (top of picture).

I continued that trunk spiral all the way down underground where my workshop was. That spiral keeps most of the wire hidden inside the block with only the puck showing. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3124339379 As you see here I built my workshop in a cave over water. I ran a power line along each of the supports all the way around. You can see I was less picky about the water pipes which just went where ever it would go without showing through the floor.

So in the actual workshop everything was connected nice and easy with none of the wires or pipes showing so it's pretty tidy in there at least. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3124341602

Ahh, nice setup. I think what’s happening to me is sometimes when I place a puck on top of another puck with the intention of creating a continuing cable, they actually wind up getting placed apart from each other so there’s a break in the line. Not sure why that’s happening, I am very intent on placing one on top of the other, but somehow they get separated. Bug I guess

Listen to the sounds, there are distinct sounds for when you start a wire connected to something and start a new wire. Same as when the wire ends in a proper connection.
