You expect them to make an "ultimate" edition... just... for you. Well, doubt that's going to happen overnight. The game is still being actively developed. "ultimate" editions are for when they stop work on a game. These devs are still working very hard.
Steam doesn't do haggling. We're not buying rugs or camels in the cairo bazarr. Set price, pay it or don't pay it. But no haggling going on.
Plus you're talking on a forum for players to talk to other players, about _playing_ the game. We can't change prices, so why are you talking to us about that? we can't change anything. And this forum isn't a way to contact the developers of the game. Just players talking to other players.
Maybe get a job and pay fair prices for your games! Or just don't buy, I bet no one cares!
Well said. I agree. This game offers a lot of enjoyment, and even with the post launch changes, there's still nothing quite like this out there. I still do a ton of missions, and like the session based gameplay. Go someplace to do a specific job, complete it, and leave.
I don't expect devs to read this topic and immediately take actions, am I troll? But if they do, I'd be very pleased to add this game to my library.
Why I am not buying this game? Because I am not sure. So I started with calling it expensive, because, well it is. Compared to other games. I was looking for a discussion where people prove me that the game is good, but I got something different here.
If there are already dozens of DLCs with so called "new regions" or "outposts", which adds so little and base game stays not polished, then what are the chances the base game ever get better? The happy players are buying new dlcs, so how about only making new dlcs? You got my point?
From my past experience (10+ dead EA game, many rushly released EA 1.0 games, etc.) I am very skeptical and pessimistic.
"Icarus: Complete the Set" costs 100$ atm, which is waaaaay to much if you ask me. I do not care about development or anything, I just compare this game to others. I can not cost more than 30$, any dollar on top of that is a scam.
There are way more "fair" price models, e.g. where people buy cosmetics if they are willing to support devs. I don't want to support devs, who from start show how greedy they are.
I think what is bothering most of us is that all your talking points are BS.
Let's start with it being expensive ok that is fine. You are entitled to that wrong OPINION.
"Dozens of new DLCs" there are 2.. TWO DLCs that add actual content. The rest are outposts and cosmetics that mean literally nothing. "Which add so little" Prometheus in particular adds entirely new biomes, flora and fauna.. it's completely different from the base game.
"and base game stays not polished" what is not polished?? They have done literally no joke ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN 107 straight weeks of updates.. some are small and some are HUGE and all of those have been free. So I ask again what is unpolished??? I'd love to know.
Have you ever played Destiny 2? It came out in 2019 it is "free" but has $320 worth of DLC. Now a lot of that is cosmetic but if right now a new player wanted to get in on that right now.. they would be looking at paying a pretty penny.. BUT had they of been there from day 1 then when the next $30 update/expansion comes they might not be so salty about it.. well it's the same with Icarus.
Sure looking at it like "OMG IF I WANT IT ALL I NEED TO SPEND $100 REEEEEEE".. well if you had been here from the start we enjoyed about 2 years before we "had" to pay for anything else... AND you don't HAVE to buy anythign if you don't want to. I had 200+ hours out of just the base game. You are having a timing issue.. you are late to the party and now want everything for a reduced price because to you the game is "old" lol.
So I do hope this thread gets locked because I'm not sure how much clearer anyone could be with you.. hell I hope the devs read this and raise the price by $10.. I'd pay $100 to never see another comment from you.. annoying ass entitled ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ babies.

I was going to make a quesadilla once, and then found out I was out of butter. Then I decided to make some soup, but nothing I had in the pantry sounded good. So I didn't make any soup.
Now we have shared all the things we have NOT done. Please feel to elaborate on other things you are not doing. I am fascinated.

The devs behind this game are not greedy. You literally (laughably) have no clue what you're talking about. The styx map was given to all players for free, for over a year. When the devs launched the New Frontiers DLC, they _deliberately_ set it up so only the host needs the dlc, and others can join without having it. So one person buys, all their friends can join for free. That sound like "greedy devs".
Oh, and as others have mentioned, there's been 2 years of CONTINUOUS updates, all for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Yeah, sounds like greedy devs again.
But anyways, you're an entitled small child. I doubt you're even spending your own money. Just mommy and daddy's. Continue to make demands. At this point it's just baffling watching your logic.
I've tried the game, it's not polished. Resources spawned on top of each other, too many wolves, the AI is terrible, some elk-mother tried to reach me while I was staying literally out of reach in front of it by running around.. the targeting resources is terrible, I had issues with UI on utlra-wide, etc.. Please don't call this polished. Maybe it was worse 2 years ago, I do not care. I compare what I see right now with what I expect. Lots of work to do and .. there are already like 10+ DLCs and I am sure more coming and maybe even (I have such feeling) devs are already working on a new project.

IF these devs were greedy. wind turbines among many other additions to the game would be paid DLC. most of the DLC is cosmetic if your smart enough to read. the outposts are 100% worthless. if you were dumb enough to not research that part. thanks for the contribution to the dev team on that one. styx of prometheus are expansions of the game. albeeit small expansions in comparison to most games. they are expansions. your gripe is soreely founded in nothing but illogical anger. anger at a game you dont even play. somebody else in your ear perhaps. or your just an angry person.
