for some reason I can not get the game to launch any recommendations on what to do

First, you need to describe the problem in detail, including what you mean by ‘game won’t launch’. What actions do you perform, what do you press, what windows are displayed, and the like.

The first standard recommendation: Verify the game in Steam.
1) Your PC Specs (Full), OS, subversion (21H1,21H2)? DX11 or DX12?
What resolution are you running the game at? (Full HD, 2K, 4K)
What settings are you running the game on? (Medium, High, Epic)
Fullscreen or Windowed? DLSS, FSR, Raytracing?
Are you playing on your PC, joining a friend, dedicated servers? (external hosting?)?
Do you play on experimental branch? GeForce now? Virtual machine?
Do you overclock CPU, Ram etc? (XMP is also overclocking)
Are you running the game or Steam as administrator? Are you launching from a desktop icon or via Steam?
Is your Steam in 'offline' mode?
What antivirus do you have installed?
Write down everything that makes your game different from normal conditions.

2) Do you use or have you previously used mods?
The screenshot below shows the files and their sizes that you should have in the Paks directory (Icarus games), and nothing extra (update Week 107). There should also be no empty mods folders.

Do you have a big pagefile? You need more than 6gb pf for Icarus.

As I understand it, there will be no answer, then I would like to write about one of the possible options if this problem occurs with old NVidia GPUs.
What the error looks like: when trying to launch Icarus via Steam, the green ‘Play’ button is pressed, it turns blue for about 2-3-4 seconds, then turns back to green, but nothing happens, the game does not start.

The problem occurred on older cards: NVidia 6xx, 7xx series (once, apparently, on the 1030GT), at that time it helped: a clean ‘reinstallation’ with DDU + GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL 472.12
