If the equipment now says it's settled on HOME/HOME then you know the game thinks your equipment is on the dedicated server. If it doesn't say settled, then it thinks your gear is on your PC/HOME drop.
Go to your PC/HOME drop and look. If you can't find it there again ride the dropship back to orbit and check to see if it now says settled instead of on drop. If it never says settled even when your character is now no longer on either HOME drops then it's probably bugged out because the names are the same. The text name you give it is actually listed as the Prospect_ID in the save files with the only other identifier being the steam ID of whoever created it.
If after looking and not finding your gear you've left both open worlds I feel you're justified to activated your insurance claim to retrieve the gear.
Instructions to activate insurance post drop can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1149460/discussions/0/3943524562535488206/#c3943524562535890978
Once you have retrieved your gear, I would suggest going to your LOAD screen and deleting the old prospect home. This way there's no longer any chance of confusion. Your wife presumably doesn't have the two different prospects named HOME so it seems to be what's causing the issue.
And as general tip, make sure to name things uniquely. Even if it's just HOME with the date you created the drop. These drops are all saved permanently unless you go to your save folder and delete them manually. Even the normal timed missions are saved permanently when they close.
Edit: Once you've started the insurance count down and deleted the PC/HOME you should be able to join your HOME/HOME world and continue playing without any issues. Your gear will catch up to you eventually. However if the issue persists, you may have to go in and manually delete the PC/HOME files.
1) First (including everyone reading this): always regularly save your Icarus to a separate folder on another partition of the drive (or flash drive). (disable Steam clouds, otherwise, when you manually return your saves, there is a chance that Steam cloud will return the original saves.)
-------->! You need to save the entire directory c:\Users\”name your windows account”\AppData\Local\Icarus\Saved

Off to go attempt retrieval of my stuff!
HOMEBOY - HOME (Olympus - Open World)
HOME
@Rekal, what do you mean by "if it doesn't say settled ...". I don't see the word "settled" anywhere on the screen. And note that this description still uses the old dedicated server name HOME, it hasn't updated to reflect the name change to RP-DJP. Is this going to make things even more confusing for the game, should I rename it back to HOME?
@Kpe ... I tried doing that procedure as directed, but every time I search my loadouts they show that the items are on my character on the prospect. I edited the JSON file to true, true, and tried to lower the elapsed time, but the 2nd digit was a zero, so instead of changing it to 9, I decremented the first 2 digits by one (i.e., instead of starting with 60 ... it now starts with 59 .... Still not showing up in YOUR ITEMS.
Gonna keep trying the various things you two have suggested but I have no pods on the planet and my items appear to still be on my character, somewhere lol.
Thanks
EDIT: Ok, the next time I selected my character and looked at the Loadout screen, the *most recent* item I purchased from the Workshop is now in the YOUR ITEMS window, but my earlier items are still listed in the ITEMS ON DROPS window. But *now* that window has the word "SETTLED" on it.
I tried going to my dedicated server and using the orbital exchange interface, and I see my most recent item in YOUR ITEMS window, but I can't drag it to the dropship cargo window. Does any of this help shed light on what I can do next?
"settled" is the process in the game for closing out and finishing a prospect. When the game first launched, it was the whole bookkeeping process for giving you the mission payouts if you successfully completed the prospect. Now with open world, and the orbital exchange system, it's a little more complicated. But a "settled" mission is essentially a "completed" mission.
If you've left any equipment behind in a prospect, it will show up a separate window below your drop pod loadout, and say "settled" next to it.
If it's an open world you can rejoin the open world, grab the gear and bring it back up to orbit. By the way, do not mix up your workshop gear and your wife's gear. After everything was moved to your local computer when they shut down the servers that managed missions, there's no longer any system for noting that someone else returned your property to orbit. So essentially you can lose the gear. Bring your own gear back up to orbit, have your wife bring her gear back up. Don't cross the streams. I believe there was an older post where a couple grabbed each other's equipment, and after returning to orbit... they both lost the gear. The game can tell what specific item belongs to what player, even if it's not labelled anywhere in game.
If it's a mission, it ended when the host left... and... the gear is now "gone". Abandoned and left behind on the surface of icarus somewhere. If you have insurance on it, you get the gear back 5 days later (bizarrely that's real world days, unless you do shenanigans with system clocks or files). If no insurance, it's just gone gone.
By the way, КрендельФигов apparently translates into "pretzelfigs". At least according to google translate. They are super helpful, and make some amazing builds and bases. Both functional and artistic.
By the way, I noticed in our Oxidite Dissolve there was an Oxygen tank purchased from the Workshop, I assume this is my wife's which she probably left in there when she logged out, so I'm not touching it! That's one of the earlier items of my own that I'm trying to recover.
Thanks again guys. I've learned some tough but useful lessons!
So, in keeping with my decision to just re-craft everything, I recrafted everything, including the suit. I was able to use a pod to retrieve the earlier items and I'm all good now. BUT, the suit remains irretrievable. But even worse, after I crafted a new one, that one is also irretrievable, so I now have 2 suits sitting there, unattainable.
Any ideas? Thanks again and sorry to be such a noob.

{From OFF Discord Twist2021: steps A and D to recover your workshop gear from an inaccessible project.}
This is an option for ‘forced insurance’ of items, which will make it possible to ‘recall’ them.
2) Option 3 of the post above, this is when nothing helps (and this is possible), this is an option for direct compensation by changing Ren+ Exotic in the json file (follow the link in the currency section).
You can't swap suits out while on a mission, or in an open world. You have to be in orbit to do that.
At this point, I'd say just edit your local saves, give yourself back the ren/exotics and just re-buy everything. Something has gone off the rails in a major way. Fix it, and move on with playing the game with your wife and having fun.
I've had to do this twice now. Once for a workshop radar that when retrieved literally fell into a mountain. I could clip my head into the mountain and see it. The second time was dying on the ice lakes in prometheus and my death lootbag ended up under the ice. Heavy sigh. Could see it, couldn't interact with it at all. Even the loot button didn't work.
As the others have said with your missing gear, if you're not able to retrieve them you can just save edit to give yourself some cash to cover the expense of buying new.
By riding the dropship back into orbit, won't that destroy my open world? Is there any scenario in which I can enter my existing open world on the dedicated server, and bring my suit with me to have in the open world? By the way, it's the same Hark suit that you have in that picture.
I recall that at a few points in the game I was looking at a loadout screen that had a big window to slot in suit. I was able to drag my Workshop suit from the YOUR ITEMS window into that suit loadout window and enter the open world game wearing the suit. How do I find that loadout screen again? Every one that I've looked at recently is missing that suit window.
The only time riding a dropship back to orbit closes out a prospect is when you're on a mission and that's only if you're the host of the mission.
That loadout screen that you equip the envirosuit is the screen right before the dropping form orbit cut-scene happens. So if you join and your character is already on the planet you won't get to pick what loadout you drop with. That is why you have to return to orbit.
And yeah, the HARK envirosuit is the best all-around suit in the game. You'll be wearing it a long time -- Hope you invested in some air freshener ;)
