structural stability issues
i built a concrete tower on a rock spire on prometheus.

in order to hide some wires and plumping which were sticking out of the walls i removed a few pillars and foundations to hide the connections behind. figured if i'd be fast enough, my tower wouldn't collapse, crossed my fingers and got to work.

worked like a charm, at least until i logged off and back on again. my tower was shaking and crumbling for about a minute, nearly gave me a heart attack. then it went stable again.

now every time i log off and on again, the same thing happens, crumbling for a minute and going stable.

i guess there is nothing to be done about this?

So you placed all the foundations and pillars back in place? If that's the case and it's still acting like that I'd say it seems to matter what order the building pieces were placed. It starts checking for structural support from the earliest placed thus you have the walls and floors wobbling because they were placed before the main supports you pulled up and put back down.

If it really bothers you then you might try pulling up and immediately putting back down each piece starting from the bottom. I'd start from the main foundation pieces and after getting to the top check it out by logging out and back in. If it still acts up, you might have to pull up and put back down the floor and wall pieces too.
{i guess there is nothing to be done about this?}
This is a sign that your design is 'at the limit'.
1) It would be nice if you took a closer screenshot, because nothing is visible. You can simply write how many floors you have.
2) The tallest buildings are built on foundations (stone or concrete).
3) The foundation must be placed on the foundation; floors cannot be placed between them as a layer.
4) You can also ‘sew along the contours’ with vertical concrete beams, which should be placed on the ground.

My castle with external walls in a stone foundation (I don’t remember exactly how many floors there are, in my opinion 10 or 11)

Here it is still ‘in section’, the protruding vertical concrete beams are ‘stitched’ to the ground (this is how I ‘strengthened’ the towers around the perimeter).

I am not sure how high it is, i reckon between 15 and 20 floors. i went with stone first and had to swap to concrete once the stone pillars crumbled.

but the issue is not that it is unstable or that i want to build even higher (which i guess i could), it is the recalculating of structural stability every time i log on, which results in half of my upper floor pieces crumbling and after a while becoming stable again. but i think i am getting used to it :)

now that would be a rather time consuming and awful work i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy :) nah, guess i have to live with it, logging out at the base of the tower works as well, before i reach the top the thing has finished calculating :)

You might get away with just picking up and replacing the pieces that act like they're crumbling. Either way, you're kind of pushing the limits of the building system so expect oddities :)

From what I understand the game recalculates the structural strength every time you connect, if yours starts to crumble then stabilises then it means your build is reaching the limit of what it can take, 15-20 floors is pretty tall, I typically don't go above 10 even with concrete but builder choice.

I have noticed this issue with a few of my larger builds, mostly with upper floors and roof, it really is just the game recalculating, provided nothing actually breaks then its not something to worry about, just be aware that further building may cause issues.

Anything above 10 floors should only stand on concrete foundations (even concrete pillars will not work). The limit is around 20-21 floors. (judging by the picture you have about that much)
