It's an old site, and I have some worries about whether it's still being updated promptly or not. But so far everything on there is accurate. There's a filter icon (looks like a funnel) on light blue vertical stripe on left side. If you click it, it opens up a whole panel, and you can choose the mission. It will show all possible spots for an exotic spawn. It varies per mission, but it's on average 1-3 nodes per mission.
If you want exotics, the go to mission for a long haul is "spiritwalk: exploration" on olympus. 3 guaranteed exotic nodes, each with 200-400 exotics. Only 6 possible places those 3 can be. Only 1 of them is in the arctic zones (polar bear). If you didn't mind extra running, you could literally skip taking a radar. I still bring a radar though, mainly to let me know if I have to bother even going into the arctic zone or not, or if I can just skip it.
Other open world missions have 3 spawns, 200-400 exotics each, but they're spread across 10 possible locations. And THREE of them are in arctic zones (both central wolf and eastern polar bear zones).
The fandom map doesn't have as much information as icarus intel. Far as I can tell, everything on the fandom map is correct, but tons of stuff just hasn't been added.
If you have the new DLC, that map can have up to 5 exotic nodes, of both purple and red exotics. There are 68 spawn locations on the map.
You can't cheat and look at map sites and just know where to go anymore. You need to run a radar, and you need to be good at guestimating the width and and arc of the yellow bands, to figure out which biome they exotics are in. the workshop radar is worth it's weight in gold there, since it's faster and more _accurate_. You get narrow more precise yellow bands when you run it.
They made a recent change that guarantees at least one node on prometheus will be red exotics. Before it was possible to get 5 purple exotic nodes.
Thank you for the Detailed explanation and guide info, i have marked this as the answer as you explained it properly and didn't just link to the wiki site that is outdated and inaccurate.
https://icarus.fandom.com/wiki/Prometheus these are recent, up-to-date edits (with the maps that Sara made), and any statements about ‘outdated information on the wiki’ are themselves outdated as a tired cliché. (most of the content related to Prometheus in the wiki is already included in my opinion)
i have posted my reply and topic is closed. If they were as updated as you say then i wouldn't have been on here asking why half the nodes on said sites don't offer anything
And most of them are empty, because they still need to be found by radar. https://icarus.fandom.com/wiki/Biofuel_Radar
They do not have specific locations, they are determined randomly each time. How many of them there will be in TOTAL is written according to the link in the wiki that I gave.
Get a grip dude, don't get too butt hurt because i chose another persons answer. Jeez get a life.
If you don’t understand that out of all the possible deposits you still need to find the active ones (each time determined by ramdom), then this doesn’t matter to me. With my link above, I indicated to others how many of them there will be in total and approximately how many exotics there will be in them. That's all.
PS One https://icarus.fandom.com/wiki/Biofuel_Can for https://icarus.fandom.com/wiki/Biofuel_Extractor allows you to get 90 exotics. How many of them will need to be found by radar and approximately what capacity they will have --> approximately you can see in https://icarus.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Prospects
I have reported you for harresment now. i am already done with it. i chose the other persons answer simple as that now deal with it,.
Thank you I wanted the answer to this question myself.
Spirit Walk: Exploration is not an SMPL3 mission, but a Mission map type and as a result you can get exotics, and the ‘Exploration’ type mission is exactly what farm exotics are used for.
