Where did the Aluminium go?

So far I have enjoyed the new DLC. It's a little much playing solo at times. I am having a really hard time finding Aluminium. Like I've not found any in 8-10 caves. Is there something I need to do or has something changed I didn't notice? Have over 650 hours. Seems really odd.

Depend on caves to give a "quick start" to push for the first bio drill...
Did you find Aluminum "Deep Mines" at least?

Ok looks like I'll need to visit the arctic. Actually trying not to use the icarus intel etc. Thank you for the comments.

Aluminum should be in every biome as before. You need to go to arctic/swamp/lava for Platinum/Titanium.

Aluminum is much more common in the arctic steppes (that's the snow area in the lower southwest).

the ores in the new DLC do encourage some exploration, wont find the end game ores in the starter biome finally a reason to make some small bases here and there
