Exposure Inside Buildings
I'm standing inside a complete stone building during an acid rain storm and my exposure is ticking up. You may want to fix that.

We build a second base and no matter what we make the roof out of we get exposure. Tried stone, cement, reinforced glass and getting exposure with all of them.

you have anything open like doors or windows? I notice your original post was a few days ago, is this still happening after patch? I notice it rained inside a can with experimental branch, but not with official which was just updated.

For us, no windows at all, 1 door that is closed. First structure is great, second gets exposure in the entire thing.

What structure is it? I had a the same issue with the forge to find out that item needs to be placed outside not inside.

With a 9X9 structure we have no problems. If we go to a 11X13 you get "no shelter" fully enclosed. What is odd is that if you set a mortar pestal down on foundations outside the 9x9 area, you will get shelter for a while and then no shelter. Back and forth for over a minute at a time. If I put in interior woof floors, I get shelter on the first floor but not on the second. Says "no shelter" for stations placed but the interior wood floors used as a floor to the second level never take any damage from a storm. Anything setting on those floors takes damage but only if outside of the 9x9 area.

Well, not sure than. Your base is much larger than I would build since I solo mostly. Post your issue on discord. Good Luck, panerdar.

Someone on discord said that anything bigger than 10x10 needs a wall inside to break it up or structural calculations stop working. So broken game.

bigger than 10x10 -> YES!
Someone is possible -> Twist2021
It's not a broken game, it's just that if you increase the 'exterior'-'interior' render radius, it will increase the CPU load for everyone, but why is this necessary? Not everyone builds houses of this size.

Broken game. Not hard, if it has a floor, continuous walls and a roof, it is inside. Should not matter if it is 9x9 or 900x900. Does not need any complicated calculations based off of some radius that causes CPU load.

And yet, unfortunately, no. It seems to you that the calculation of 9X9 and 900X900 will be the same and nothing more. Naturally, I don’t know how it works from the inside, but the calculation of ‘are you on an open surface’ or not in this game is not carried out according to a banal scheme – ‘if it’s empty on top, then I’m in an open area’.
It is the calculation that takes place here and it looks like it happens according to the 'pathfinding' type only in volume with the calculation point on top, and this is a load type of calculation.

What would you choose?
Comfortable looking small house or a warehouse?

At some point, a very large enclosed space would feel "cold"... @@

Even a warehoused sized enclosure needs smaller rooms to make it feel more comfortable.

Think of it this way,
The body radiates heat...
A small room would retain some of that heat to provide some comfort.

A very large room, even with a roof, would just feel like your outdoors with a roof over your head...still ..."cold"... @@

The game reflects the "reality" that a very large enclosed open space doesn't provide optimal comfort.

Most likely, if someone had found a very large enclosed shelter they would still build something smaller within it to provide better comfort.
