FPS loss
Good morning

it's time to optimize your game because I'm getting tired of having huge FPS losses every 10 seconds from 60fps to 3 fps and I even have my game freezing for 2 to 3 seconds.

and yet I have a 3060 elite 12go Vram and 32 go ram

Been having the same issues for meany months i try opening inventory and game drops to 3fps and just stays there when i go back into the game. multiplayer is the worse FPS gradual drop form 60fps to 10fps over an hour or less game is unplayable.

We are testing a performance update on the opt-in experimental beta branch. If you could try that and let me know if it helps, that would be amazing.

it helped for me to lower the amount of stutters and the length of the stutter. of course the hick ups are still happening though I need to test further in which scenarios its most present.

it helped too to set icarus to high priority in task manager -> but this more for fps

Worked for me, thanks.
Recently I also had permanent 60 fps drops of 143, which made it impossible to play. With the beta it works fine.
Hardware: RTX 2080TI OC, Intel i9-9900K@3.9, 64GB Ram, DX11, Win10.

I can tell you that there is a very big increase to performance in that I didnt notice the Stutters as bad when going from Biome to Biome, But I had to revert back to non experiemental because it broke the ICE lake and being able to mine the super cool ice. The drill wont attach at all. Soon as i went back to stable it was fine.

Hello, I have played for 80hrs. For the first 70 or so hours it was flawless. All of a sudden every time I opened my inventory I would drop from 80+ FPS to about 9 FPS. I figured I had spent enough time on the open world, So I started a new open world after updating everything on my end. 10 Min into the new open world it started again. I am running a Ryzen 9 5950x with a 3060ti and 32 g of RAM. Everything up to date as far as updates etc. This is 11-1-2024 Any advise would be great. Thank you

This game is terible on using RAM is literally requires 64GB and if you have biulds over 6k biulding pieces you will need 128GB of RAM. It is literally trying to lad entire game in to RAM memory

6000 pieces is ridiculous.

So is bumping a year old thread for more of the daily performance complaining.
1) 64GB is more than enough for about a 4200 building part; 6K is also more than enough.
2) For starters, I recommend setting the OS swap file size to FIXED SIZE 32 GB (this means that when setting ‘Custom Size’ -> ‘Initial Size’ and ‘Maximum size’ must be same -> 32768). The paging file must be on the SSD (system partition C:). It is advisable to have at least 32 GB of physical RAM.
Here, the problems will not be in Icarus, but in Unreal 4, on which the game is built, the thing is that this game engine loves a lot of RAM and, oddly enough, large swap files.
If you are playing on DX12 and you are starting to crash or have another problem, then be sure to put a 32GB swap file. Or try switching to DX11 (considerably less memory consumption).

64GB ram only able to deal with 2500 building blocks and 1500 deployables and when gets overloaded specially in Prometheus map which so some rezone all map is using like 25GB RAM on fresh drop compered to Olympus fresh drop only 12-15GB on my PC and not talking about different building blocks for some rezone all Stone and scoria Brick buildings using way more RAM

1) There was a discussion on a similar topic recently and I made a series of screenshots.
Olympus 4237 buildings, 1128 items, 0 animals.
Prometheus 2452 buildings, 464 items, 0 animals.

1.1) 64GB is more than enough even in the mode with disabled ‘Texture Streaming’ of Unreal Engine, when Ram consumption increases significantly due to the complete loading of textures.

issue is still here, lol

Game is a blurry mess and keeps dropping to 6 FPS all the time, on a rx 7600

Agreed. I am having boat loads of problems on an i5 9600k paired with an RX 5700 XT. May not be the greatest system in the world but it should be running better than I am seeing it run. Slide show is all I am getting.

You only have 16GB of Ram, unfortunately even increasing the size of the swap file won't help much.
