How to Force World Just to Resume (In Lobby)

I want people just to hop onto the server and the world is active (or it resumes if it was empty.)

Right now it's giving me the option to load other saved games as well as the option to create a new game. How do I turn these off?

Just as a warning, it's generally advised not to disable the lobby because it can cause issues after long periods of having your session open.

Just to confirm. Do you want your server to never enter the lobby and remain active? Or do you just want it to auto-resume the last prospect? There's a setting in the server config called resumeprospect, if you set that to true it should load the last prospect you launched without having to pick one. I haven't done that in awhile so it may have changed.

If you want always active, I'm working on getting the answer. I know it was possible months ago but I'm trying to find the config setting to do that.

Found it, set the shutdown when empty parameter to -1 or any negative number. If you encounter issues after a day or so maybe restart or try enabling the lobby again.

But that also means time will also tick by, even if no one is online, so your power will run out of fuel, food rot etc

This will have to be tested. I once left my server "running" with lieka 5 hour shutdown timer. Hoping the solar powered deep mining drills would be full. They were not. Someone told me if no one is there, the game basically pauses all actions, but things like time of day still progress....so idk. It was awhile ago.

This seems to be correct. I found this message from one of the veteran community members.

the game pauses if the lobby is empty, so you can leave it on -1 and unless you need to change maps

To be more specific, looks like the properties to change are:

ShutdownIfEmptyFor  set to -1
ShutdownIfNotJoinedFor  set to -1

Ya I don't mind it shutting the game down (pausing it) when nobody's on. I also don't mind the lobby access -- but what I don't want is people to have options -- just hop in and join that game (not create a new one or have any of those types of choices.)

I did set the resumeprospect so it would resume, but it still also gave ME the option to create a new one. I've never designated myself as an Admin so I'm not sure how it would know (if showing that to the owner only was the case).. lol
