We would rather you got a refund than ended up with a game you did not enjoy.
Alright thanks for the advice
In the next 2-3-4 years, the relevance of Icarus will not be lost, because there are no corny comparable competitors on the horizon (unfortunately, others are either radically inferior in graphics or in the variety of big game features), and by that time, if someone tries to make an analogue, Icarus itself will go even further.
Abusive DLC packs? There's only 2 you need to have the full experience. The outposts are for people wanting a creative experience, aka no aggressive animals.
Yeah, buy the game, then buy the 50 dollars in dlc, so that you can get ready for the next wave of 50 dollar dlc. what is this, the sims 4?
There is a price difference for the DLC`s, if you go on the store page and click icarus relaunch it shows the complete bundle has being £59.93, but when you view the bundle that price now changes to £36.60. So it looks like a store issue with the prices being shown that are not reflecting the proper price.
Edit: to correct the price shown on store page icarus relaunch prices.
Edit: I like what I see, I want to have it, my main hold back is that I am leaning more on waiting for ps5 release (I mean they would be silly if they don't go for it) but another big hold back is the their practices.
I can say okay, you can have Frontiers charging as standalone game, if I like base as I think, I will bite and buy it, (because I can afford it)
But why are you selling maps and missions? This could've been part of content patches that would win you good favor among community, because you already damaged your reputation. badly.
And what happens in the future? Are you going to actually deliver on new promises, or repeat the same thing? And that's where I draw the line, despite this looking like the game I want to play.
I'd be tempted to buy the complete edition for €42 to finish the collection and jump back in but the performance issues were a big negative for me.
Also, the Outposts, what's the deal with them? They're persistent bases? Can you keep them on each map concurrently or you just choose a map, save a build then when you want to try another outpost map you start from scratch and the previous outpost gets destroyed? And what's the benefit of outposts? Can you level your character up in your outpost and it stays persistent across missions?
Here, the problems will not be in Icarus, but in Unreal 4, on which the game is built, the thing is that this game engine loves a lot of RAM and, oddly enough, large swap files.
If you are playing on DX12 and you are starting to crash, then be sure to put a 32GB swap file. Or try switching to DX11.
The previous outpost, OpenWorld is NOT destroyed - information 100% Leveling for the character is united (wherever you are and no matter what you do, Missions, outpost or OpenWorld)
I am a survival game fan. I have many many hours into games like The Long Dark, Subnautica, Green Hell, Valheim, etc.
I'm currently loving Icarus. Playing in a large group and it's polished & unique.
That said... if a gameplay loop that involves rebuilding from scratch every mission isn't your thing... maybe read up a bit more on it first.
Although lets behonest, many other survival games include some amount of rebuilding - when you go to a new biome & build a new, better base. 😁
