It has that delay so you don't accidentally trigger the whole skinning animation if there's an enemy nearby.
Snap, you're right. I've had better tools for so long, I forgot.
Things like buffalo you need a something that counts as iron or above. If you have an insufficient knife, and aim the cursor at something that needs higher quality, you see a knife symbol in red with roman numeral II next to it.
Even the junkiest mxc workshop knife counts as iron. The mxc knife is probably one of the first 6 things that anyone should buy from the workshop.
Try E. My friends and I have this discussion often because its common for people to Swap E and F keybinds so it gets confusing. lol I can't remember which is the default anymore.
I normally only pick up animals if im not actively holding the knife. It could be a bug but it would be one I've never seen/ heard of. 🤔
Red knife symbol usually means it's not a high enough quality level of knife to pierce the skin.
