I did a lot more preparation the second time around.
Edit - not specifically the Daisy mission, but every mission I've had to do over two (or three or four) times. :)
Before I park my tames anywhere, I usually build up the side of mountain/rock with wood ramps, and deploy a small building. I completely wall the tame in. I remove the bottom ramp when I get down.
No matter what happens next, the tame should be okay. I'm doing a lot of missions now where I'm toting a workshop radar and workshop extractor around. I need a moa to carry the second, since I can only carry 1 of those on my character. Makes the tame worth it's weight in gold
Kill > run > kill > run. If you do it quick enough (and don't bother to loot too often aside from maybe grabbing arrows off corpses) you will have a decent window to see the mobs coming and block them.
Keep in mind though that even after that part of the mission finishes, she is still a lure for predators. >< Probably a lot easier with at least one other person, so someone can lead and the other can pick off the demon dogs as they show up.
This is a ridiculous mission. I apologize for my advice above. The OP is totally right, you have no time to even look at the map before you are rushed. Just claiming daisy, and confirming her name starts the event
I thought I was gonna be cute, and I brought enough stone building parts to make a 2 X 2 bases around Daisy. I literally added foundations under her feet, then walls, all while killing dracs non-stop. But the problem is they don't EVER stop spawning. I was shooting them with aruda arrows, from a larkwell compound bow. Then pulling the arrows out again.
I've seen glitchy never ending spawns like this in the desert, when you use a workshop radar. So I logged out while standing on my mini-base. No good, they kept spawning after I loaded back.
Daisy bugged out and refused to follow, even when set to follow.
Finally I ran like crazy, until I could barely see the mini-base. I stopped and logged out. When I logged back in, daisy was waddling towards me, being followed by a drac. Arrow in the drac, but more just kept spawning.
Right now, I'm stuck on the side of a cliff. I used wood ramps to get Daisy up the side of the cliff, but there are 5 dracs down below now. Killing a drac just causes ANOTHER to spawn after about 15 seconds.
I finally got a chance to look at the map, so now I know where I'm going. This is going to be a pain.
Daisy has glitched out and refuses to move again.
me daisy does not want to follow me, at the beginning she follows me 20m and after she returns to her starting point and does not move anymore
I found that if you tell daisy to stay, she will NOT follow you again. Change her to follow, she doesn't. The only fix I found was logging out, and then back into the mission. Then she'd follow (automatically), but telling her to stay caused the same issue... 4 separate times.
When I tried it, they were spawning up to a maximum of 4-5, and I could generally see 2-3 at any give time. Larkwell martinez compound bow, with inaris aruda arrows, and something like 28 pts of talents in bows. The problem wasn't really the never ending spawns, but running into other things. Daisy got killed by a croc when I was in sight of the other contractors base. I turned to shoot the croc, and the 2 dracs running in started hitting me from behind. But spoilers here it doesn't matter if daisy dies, you still complete the mission when you loot the contractors base, run back to pod, jump in, mission complete
