patch seems to have broken the game for me
I have an MSI GP76 Leopard, with a RTX3070M, and was running the game just fine on high settings before the patch. Now, my saved game is broken (crashes within seconds of loading) and a new game runs for a few minutes before crashing, citing a lack of memory. Does anyone have any suggestions ? Is there a specific setting that is very memory intensive that I should turn off ?

(Credits go to Derkatron):

The list of things I've seen help for repeated crashes are:
Verify Game Files
Remove Mods
Reinstall Icarus
Fresh Install of GPU Drivers
Disable Discord and Steam overlays
Turn off Geforce Experience

Done all that. The problem is clearly with the patch. Was fine before.

Have you checked your memory pool size? Make sure it doesn't exceed 6000. If it's at 6000, step it back until you no longer have an issue.

If this keeps happening then go into your C:\Users\mfsla\AppData\Local\Icarus\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor, and consider on deleting your gameusersettings.ini file, and restart the game.

If none of the suggestions help (those who offer up suggestions) then the game may have a memory leak of some sort.

Steam is often corrupting the game files while downloading updates. Note that verifying game files does not seem to fix this.

You need to go to the install directory, then uninstall the game, and ensure all the files are deleted. Then reinstall the game.

It is a very annoying bug we see quite often with how steam is applying game updates.

I have done this. No luck. Now when you say all files. Is there hidden ones. I went to steam apps in common folder. And fully deleted icarus

There are hidden files, you have to set it to show hidden files, go to users, appdata, find Icarus and delete all data there too. Just make sure to back up your saves.
It would always be nice to indicate the number of the error and the detailed patterns of its manifestation.
If you have the same error Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000001e3180ac0

Then it has been known to too many over the past couple of days, it is known on the official Discord, to the developers too. Now it remains only to wait for them to do something.

OK, I need to apologise. The issue seems to have been my overly aggressive OCing of my GPU through the MSI Dragon Center. Returning everything back to default solved the problem. I can run the game on Epic settings now without problems. Problem had nothing to do with the patch, at least not directly. Sorry for the commotion...

yep, for me this is the first time since the patch i have been having UE4 error crash reports. I had never had one of these before that.

Friend had them before (who is also running the game for co-op) since he has the DLC. Now since patch its constant. He's now taking a hiesta as he has reinstalled drivers, reinstalled game, taken experiance off, stopped all overl;ays (steam, experiance, epic). turn down settings and all to no avail. Sometimes he does get excesive amounts of ram usage too.

But nothing so far has worked properly, its like try and try and try and after 3-4hrs you might get into one that runs (but by that time most your gametime has elapsed) like last night 3 hrs before we got a stable run for just over an hour, today 2hrs and we just gave up.

Game has some sort of crash error that really does need to be fixed.
