Characters deleted

Why did my characters get deleted but my friend has his? What kind of BS is this?

The fix worked, but it is HELL of a hassle to do this for 2 accounts on different computers.
Not happy at all with this.

just under 100 hours for me down the drain until they fix this game. Every time i try to give this game another shot it just spits in my face and reminds me it should have never been released as a full title game and it still appears as if they are in early access.

Well, they DID have migration options where you did NOT have to do this until about a week ago. But they were having issues where people who had migrated already hit the button to migrate again, which messed them up... they probably figured most people had migrated, and the people who were impacted who had not migrated yet. were less than those getting messed up. :/

This is the normal way to restore a character. Thanks again for this information! I think this has helped a lot of players but I don't understand why I have to do this? I mean write console commands, create a special filebat? It is not my job to restore my character in this way. This is the work of the developers. I don't want to waste time on this. I wrote to tech support with a request to solve this problem.

hey guys... i suffer the same.. i played around 70 hours and stoped at the base and made a longer break from the game... and now everthing is gone... so I got no chance to migrate...because in december I reinstalled my PC and for sure I didnt safe the savegame because I thought its in my steam cloud... :-(
So all is lost I guess?

The only other advice I can offer is to reach out to the Devs on their Discord. They are more responsive there than here (in my opinion)

you still would have stored characters on their server and been hit by the migration.

I don't play this game all the time but tried to play last night with some friends and all of us apparently missed the window for migration. All our max level characters are gone. RIP to this game.

That's because all your character files and data are stored on your local harddrive. Copy the save info from your old machine to the new one, and you should be fine.

Does that mean, if I mistakenly updated the game and logged in. It's too late to find my local stored saved progress characters? Because, looking into my saved data folder now, there's only that new saved file, which is my new character. There's no sign of the old saved game data file.
