I have found that the animals seem to have regular paths that they follow, like to rivers or water etc, and if you unwittingly build in their path, they will attack your building if they sense you inside. If you get a bear doing this you can be in trouble if your house isn't made of stone.

The snow biome is supposed to be the hardest biome in the game. I'm guessing you wanted a challenge, because you started there?

On the plus side, at least it's not polar bears...

Hmm I found by placing a fence around my buildings they change there paths around it. Maybe a aluminum fence if u can mine that. since wood is harder to get there. I have placed right by the lake before had pathing issues. then i put up the fence further out and I was not attacked anymore. Though the wolves where you are maybe a bit more agressive.

The fence idea should work. I have found that the animals won't attack structures if they don't sense the player within range. So fences etc should help detour them away from a players base and prevent attacks when the player is home.... at least that's what i've found.

Fences of wooden beams work to keep out wolves. Bears will tear through them eventually but if you put down stone piles or wood piles on the inside it takes a bit for them to destroy those. Beams are not affected by weather as far as I can tell. I use these types of 'fences' to keep my tamed animals in and the wild animals out. You need 4 beams for the square and 2 cross beams to ensure nothing gets in or out. You might need 2 levels depending on the terrain height where you build.

Also make sure you aren't building in a spawn area which is sounds like you are.

i see wolves and bears are still a nuisance in this game... they're the reason i quit playing last year

just build in locations the animals cant reach you base ... worked this one out on day 1.

I built a building on a cliff side where NOTHING was at. After a day or so of playing wolves bears and Jaguars would attack my stone base non stop. This game needs a lot of balance. That and getting storms 2 and 3 times each in game day is stupid and annoying.

Make sure you do not build in an area where the wolf's spawn.

After you kill them, make sure you skin them and harvest their bones. Otherwise the corpses will attract more wolves.

you can also build around u a stone base wall. Like the other guy said. as long and the animal do not see you. your fine. the fence is a buffer. and the ai makes animals walk around the fence.

how am supposed to know if its a spawn area? i build a huge base already its a pain in the ash to move it . Developers should work on : spawn the animals under the map and relocate them to different areas each time! while we playing! this will fix the lag coz it wll load the animals at the beginning of the game and not while we playing so less stress of the pc system, plus more fair gameplay! this is the solution my friend!

Based on what you are describing you have built within a spawn area.
