How to rest ALL progress in Icarus (Completely start over)
so i just wanted to share this for anyone else who wants to rest all progress in game. i have read all discussions out there about this and havent seen anyone else mention this before. with the week 53 update offline and online are combined and you can no longer go offline with steam and delete saved data to reset everything.
so all you have to do is go to file explorer and go to the save game location:
user> appdata> local>icarus>saved> player data> (some long #).
in this folder is all the data about your player, money, exotics, unlocked items, inventory items etc. all you have to do is open those text files and you can delete inventory items, re-lock unlocked missions and items from workshop, and change exotics/money to 0. then save the file and when you open icarus you are fully reset.
*THIS IS PERMANENT YOU CAN NOT UNDO THIS*
its really simple but i havent seen any other discussions saying how to do this. the week 53 update had me really frustrated at first because it took my offline character, level 20, and merged it with my online character with 100's of hours playing where i have EVERYTHING unlocked, 1000's of exotics and money and almost every mission was completed. which basically made it where (for me) there is no point to playing anymore. after doing this i am back to a brand new player in icarus and i am going to start over fresh.
so i hope this helps for anyone else looking to completely start over and reset all progress, not just make an additional character.

ya so do the migration stuff thats fine. you have to update your save file(s) to the new way. but once that is done. go to the file location i listed above. there is a folder "player data" that contains all the info for your character, money, unlocked items etc. basically you are going to remove/change the text in the text files "metainventory" and "profile." make sure you save the text file before closing it out and then it will update the game.
for example in the "metainventory" that is your workshop items you have in your inventory, if you delete everything it will remove your workshop items you bought. and the "profile" text file is the amount of money, exotics and a list of the items you have unlocked/bought from the workshop. you can change the amt of money/exotics to "0" and then just delete the text below under "unlocked flags." that will make the items as if you havent unlocked/bought that item before.
so doing all of these, if you delete your characters it will return your game to the same place as if you have never played icarus before. since money, exotics, and unlocked items are the same for all characters, if you do this it does it for all characters you have created.

-logged into game
-did migration
-quit to desktop
-opened and edited metainventory (saved before exit) , "Value": 1 changed to "Value": 0
-opened profile, changed all currency types to zero, deleted everythign below, replaeced the missing }

load game back up, forces me to migrate again and it rolls back the changes.

these changes dont really have anything to do with the migration. you might have to actually get into the game to update your save file so it doesnt keep making you do it. this is just a way to edit your save file. i just posted this because there used to be another way to just delete your save file, start steam offline so it creates a new save to overwrite the old one. but with this migration, now automatically reloads your cloud save and you cant do it the old way anymore, so this is a way to edit the save file instead.
so you may have to actually get into game, drop down etc. then quit the game so it creates a new save a sees you have migrated your save. i'm not sure on that part, just a guess

hello

you will have to work on the dedicated server because they are good to break the refrigerator which does not work the durability of the objects of the workshop leave at lightning speed and if we could have access to our paks folder it would be good for the addition of mod thank you

Well. For Hard reset you have to do a simple steps.
*Delete folder user> appdata> local>icarus>saved
*Turn off save synchronization In the steam launcher
*Start local game. Create new character. Exit to desktop
*Turn on save synchronization In the steam launcher
*Choose local save in steam library

That`s all ;)

That helped me, I wanted to start from the beginning but keep my first character to remember; in preparation for the Styx Open World with the session based mission (operations as they be called) but wanted to start like I am a new character instead of some missions are unlocked (which means some paths are open). So I deleted everything but the op character, turned off sync, loaded the game, closed the game, turned sync on again, then reset the save location to follow.

why is this not just an option in game? have the devs indicated they will add a restart feature?

Probably because you can accomplish it by simply creating a new character.

Does this mean a clean slate? Beastiary too?

if you delete the data from the "bestiary data", yes. you can delete ALL of your player/ saved data as if you are starting the game over like you're playing it for the first time.

Worshop blueprints, items, Ren and exotics carry over to the new character. Sure you can manually change it back in the save files if you know how to do it, but it's far from a built-in reset.
