the wideness of an arc will show you the distance.
the closer you are. the less wide it is. (covers a smaller angle of the radius)
maybe some people just don't want to do missions.
that's all there was to the game before when they played many many hours and got completely tired of the game.
now there is open world survival that they want to enjoy but bam. forced to do missions.
♥♥♥♥ missions
allow us to drop into a mission with actuall crafted gear or items from an open world and then maybe we'd be interested in doing missions.
but as it is now. what reason is there to do either.
no point in doing open world because you can't get end game without single session missions. and nothing you do will help you in doing missions.
Because exotics are deeply tied to the mission game loop.
You NEED exotics to do missions. You NEED the workshop items to be able to do the harder missions
You do NOT need exotics in open world. You can craft equivalents (or better) to most workshop items.
Exotics are not part of the open world game loop at all so they do not belong in open world. You can play your entire time in open world and never see an exotic and it will not change anything about the open world play. If you WANT them you need to go into the part of the game where they are required.
There is no reason you cannot do this the way the game is right now, and you can get exotics in the very first mission if you are already high enough level to make T3 items. The first mission is kind of a tutorial so really easy to do and get as many exotics as you want.
Yeah agreed.
The missions are jobs. It's why your character traveled to the planet in the first place. Those jobs take place at random places all over an entire planet. That's why bases don't persist from mission to mission. You land in italy one mission, then in africa the next. Why would a base you built in italy be there on the next mission?
And I just assumed that lore-wise, the land they give your character in open world has already been stripped/mined out of exotics. That's why they gave it to you for free. Our characters are basically gold prospectors. Sorry they don't give you land with a multi-million dollar gold mine in your backyard. If it was there, the corporations would be mining it themselves.
That statement is not even remotely correct.
Worshop gear can have effects that you will never see on crafted gear.
Like the neves icarus pickaxe give you a -40% over encumbrance penalty. You can be horrible overloaded and still _run_ at nearly your max speed. That's ridiculously overpowered. Worthy every single unit of exotics it cost.
Workshop is full of other examples like that. Unique benefits you get nowhere else. Like modules. You can't even craft those, at all. Workshop only.
And as others have said, if you want to do missions, workshop gear is the only thing you start with. Even though they added respawning exotics to open world, you could still make a case that doing a missions like spiritwalk exploration on Olympus could be easier. The exotics will be in fixed possible locations, you get a fixed number of nodes. If you have the worshop gear to make running the mission quicker, you can spam that mission with little windup time. Workshop radar, workshop extractor and power cells, and you're ready to start mining exotics as soon as you find them. Spiritwalk has 3 guaranteed nodes, and only in 6 possible locations. 50/50 chance you find exotics at any one of the 6 locations, and those locations are _fixed_ and known.
As of now there is exotic in caves in open world. I just mine some today actually.
strange since i seem to be harvesting a purple thing on the ground that shows it to be 'exotics' with an extractor, and have been farming caves and mining purple rocks that say 'exotics' and sending them up to space then buying stuff from a workshop??
