Although I did not ever have one get killed but I put mine in a stone house.. 3x3 held all three of my babies till they grew up just fine.
Well, a 16-slot 600kg pack mule is not garbage... can make a decent cargo truck to move bases for example. or to mine out a cave completely in one go.
Well if you get past housing the thing is it dies riding it any way. My wife went out in snow and said the buffalo wouldn't jump to get over the chasms. The buffalo got stuck in the crack and died. Unstuck isn't an option. I rode my mount to a cave sight from base where the mount was well fed, sleep, and happy, and the stupid bird died in a storm on the way back from the cave of starvation. At first I thought it was the storm exposure but I built ramp shelter over the pet pinning it to the cliff under shelter. The bird said not happy low health and starving. Then it died. Well that wasn't useful as a mount.
LOL that "pack mule" is the definition of garbage.. lol it is so slow.
If you have the Inaris "Neves" Pickaxe you will never have to worry about how full you are... I carried 30 stacks of exotics 6 sectors to my drop ship in like maybe 10 mins.. and it was as if I was running with zero debuff... even completely filled up you can make 2,3,4 trips to and from an area faster than with that slow ass pack animal.. lol.
