Report a translation problem
In the middle of the post (linked below), they have a chart and it's clear you have to do missions for exotics:

The mission tree is locked, but it does not take too long to start working through the missions. Pretty soon you will have the early workshop tools, then overtime work up to the higher tier tools and armor. If you like to beat a game in a week or two this is probably not the right type of game for you. Personally the fact that this takes a while and offers a challenge helps to make this worth the cost to me. As you follow the mission tree you will naturally unlock the parts of the map. The missions are in a tree so that you don't jump to missions you are not ready for, they are scaled and start easy and work up. It all depends on what type of game you like, this type of survival game just might not be for you.
