The game glitched out, ended my prospect and killed my character...
I haven't played for a while. Last time I played ( after the maps were changed so the countdown timer didn't countdown unless someone was actively playing) I started a new prospect. When I logged on today it told me the prospect had ended and my character had been lost and now I need to delete it and start a new one.

Not super impressed right now. How do I fix this?

If this was an ONLINE prospect, there is a 90-day limit on those. RocketWerks cannot keep files indefinately (it takes up space on their servers that could be used by people actively playing), so if you don't play for 90 days, they will delete the prospect (and you will get the character lost message). There is no such limit in Offline mode, which is stored on your PC--they don't pay for that space, so it stays as long as you want.

Recommend you reach out to the Devs on Discord.

This was in the patch notes when they announced the change (edit: this was posted April 1, so if you started that prospect shortly after, you very well could have hit the 90 day limit):

In Online mode, your prospect’s save game will be deleted after 90 days. We think this gives you more than enough time to complete even the most complex missions. Offline prospects and Outposts are stored on your local PC, so are permanent.

FML, I didn't see the part about the 90 day storage, I just saw that there was no longer a time limit and figured that was all I needed to know.

I hope this gets sorted because I purchased the premium expansion supporters pack way back since they were a kiwi company and I wanted to support them through early access and I'm really regretting it in SO MANY WAYS!

I was playing it a lot and got to all the (currently in game) end game level tech but wanted to take a break and come back to the game when more content had been added and things were a bit more balanced and optimized and when I started playing it yesterday things were a bit off with the graphics and reading through forum posts I saw they broke the graphics a few weeks back and haven't fixed things yet.

The character deletion is just the icing on the cake.

FWIW, you weren't the only person who missed that bit about the 90 day storage, which is why I recommend reaching out to the Devs on Discord. :/

Thanks, I don't usually use Discord which is why I haven't done it already.

There are a lot of people complaining about the ridiculous lack of support or and kind of media team to talk over issues with players in forums etc. Its one of the only large companies I have seen without any contact though a developer email, just one dude going through every post after they break the game with a patch telling everyone its not their fault and the players need to update their drivers and that will magically fix everything.

My personal experience:

They monitor Discord. Edit: every game Dev has a favorite mode of contact with the community. It looks like RW perfers Discord.

They only occasionally monitor Steam (they do monitor it, but very rarely comment here, compared to in Discord, where they are much more responsive).

There may also be info in their Discord how to contact on situations like this (they post more announcements/info there, too).

This is all just my personal experience, which is why I recommended you reach out on Discord. You might get lucky and someone sees this and responds here, but you are more likely to get a response there, imo.
