Icarus
Lag issues
I have a gaming laptop with hardwares worth 2,000+ euros and a 100MB connection (up/down).

I love Icarus and it is mostly what I hope it to be, but I find myself stop playing and enjoying it fover short time due to lag issues. This happens all the time and takes away the joy.
When I move my character, the game seems to use 1-2 seconds to process what is happening. While I am moving it is ok, usually, though often it needs to take these types of "breaks" to process.Mainly this happens when I start to move in a direction. This rapidly taking away my patience and enjoyment for this beautiful game.

I know there has been prior discussions about this topic. I guess what I am inquiring here if there are any tips or tricks that could help with this "stop and process"-issue that I seem to have which is stealing my experience and enjoyment of Icarus?

The first question anyone is going to ask, is for you to list your exact hardware spec.

Icarus demands a very high-end video card. I paid for my card about what you paid for your whole laptop. Your video card may not be up to the task.

Having SSD vs. a mechanical drive makes a difference, too.

You can still overcome this, but you will have to change your graphics settings down. And any advice on where to scale it to will depend what you actually have.

No, Icarus do NOT need a very high end material not even a big graphic card.
My computer is 8 years old and Icarus works like a charm even in coop.
on my game settings, I deactivate light shadows of players, thunder effect, DLSS and I got shadow at minimum. everything else is max.

Yeah sometimes I have slow or lag but it's really rare to mention it.

But yes, maybe for our understanding, what are the caracteristics of your computer?

Mine has been doing that after last weeks update. I have a 3070 card. It ran perfectly before that update. It is very frustrating. I'm going to look around and tweek some settings but I had the best settings before and it should still be able to be the same, nothing has changed on my PC. Only thing that changed was the update from last week (not last night's update). So, it's not just you.

I THINK MOST OF US HAS NOTICE THIS. Maybe it has to do with the new accets in the game who need to be tuned. As for the moment the dx 12 dont work even after the update.

I play on a mid - low end $1400 Sager laptop (damn good brand if anyone is looking for a gaming laptop, not affiliated just pass on a good product when I find it) with no issues at all, to that end I am not playing everything on ultra and 8k.. Of course that would require a better device.. Many graphics cards are more than my entire laptop..

What you paid for your laptop is irrelevant. I can build a Desktop that is top of the line, it will cost a lot less than if I bought it in store. Also when I first started with PC gaming like you I bought a Gaming Laptop, it was not very good. The laptop had very little RAM in it and the GPU was near useless for the current games. Just because a retailer labels something for gaming does not make it true.

First off test if it is your internet, start an offline game with your internet disconnected. If you are still getting Lag then highly suggest looking at the RAM requirements on the store page vs what your Laptop has. Also would compare GPU and CPU to be sure they meet requirements. Those specs listed there are not suggestions. If you do not meet or exceed then you will have issues, nothing anyone can really do. Also if you push the Laptop to play you will ultimately destroy it.

When buying PC you have to research not just buy expensive.
