Wood piles just disappeared :/

I was grinding wood to get XP for next level (please change xp multiplier in solo) and was building a kind of stairway (2 rows) with wood piles. Today, some of them just disappeared.

It's not so cool.

What mission you ding this in? If in Outpost I believe XP is reduced since there are no predators Also if you leave anything not made of stone outside for long a storm WILL destroy it. Boxes Woodpiles Tables if not under cover.

Wood and stone piles are not damaged by storms, so that's not the cause of the problem.

you play this game? Obviously not enough to know.
I've seen lightning storm hit wood piles and send em ablaze and disappearing. So yes, the weather can destroy them.

go put a bunch outside during a lightning storm and watch.

My low level XP grind is to hit the island in the "tutorial" mission, harvest all the fiber and just mass produce bandages, drop them, and repeat. Once you get the bone scythe, it goes a lot quicker. Even in the Outpost, this gets you about 6k XP per cycle. Once you level and get access to XP buff food (flatbread, bread, battered/crumbly fish), that goes up another 25% or so, and standing in front of a fireplace gets you the "cozy" buff which gives you another 5 or 10%(around 40xp/bandage in Outpost).

Once you get a backpack, you can do 195 bandages per cycle... grindy but easier than forestry and hunting, IMO.
