Practice headshots. It matters.
Spoken from someone else who also gets mauled regularly by large groups of predators.
If I mention anything about Elephants behavior in real life in relation to this game, I'm going to get laughed at again.
So instead I'll pitch this wild idea I had just now.
Aggressive elephants typically only really happen when you threaten the tribe/children in the herd. But Icarus doesnt exactly have herds and we havnt seen ANY baby predator animals, only the herbivore deer. So this leads me to have to consider that all the predator species may have just been made extinct by all of their children being wiped out due to the terraformation event failing, so they are all extra agressive trying to find mates that dont exist and are getting increasingly hostile because of it. The Herbivores simply adapted faster due to a prevalent availability of genetically manipulated plants of alien matter reformatted into roughly the equivalent of Earth food.
... I had to stop and re-read my own paragraph.
No, look, I cant make sense of any of the predator behavior patterns. Its just one of those weird quirks of survival games we have to get used to. If it was alien looking animals instead of Earth looking animals, these conversations wouldnt even exist and I understand its silly to argue over it.
.... Why elephants, though? In the DESERT. Where there isnt enough plant life to support them. I... I guess its close enough to the plant biomes to... to migrate to and from... I guess?
Trying to logic games is probably a bad idea.
I tell people the same thing about the bears. They're underestimating how tough those animals can be.
Wolves and bears are supposed to work together to kick your butt. Nothing is broken, therefore there's nothing to correct. It's working as intended.
Yeah, I'm okay with no wolf pups and no bear cubs. Imagine two or three bear cubs (they're pretty big), plus momma bear, trying to eat you while the local wolf pack, who just happens to be friendly with momma bear, is also trying to eat you. No, thanks.
sneak kills do not aggro any surrounding animals. beer you can hear them from miles, and first thing you do you loo around where is him, and look for woolfs at same time, kill woofs first, before hitting bear
I asked one of my teammates this recently and found out they turned off in game sound and were listening to some metal bands, because he didnt think in game sound mattered.
Oops. XD
Pretty sure they are like 500 dollar bought assets form somewhere too. It's hilarious going into the desert and getting attacked 1 by 1 by 2 cougars, then 2 boars, then 3 hyenas I swear.... also wish the so called alien wildlife aren't as plain and simple as deer, cougar and wolves, the same animals we see here on our own planet....
What I dont like, is when I shoot a bear in the butt from 200 yards away hidden in brush the bear instantly knows my exact location and charges directly. But almost EVERY game does this with the AI. The AI here work no differently then most games out there.
Had a clear area where I was getting on with a mission when a bear spawned in, kept my distance and tried to get on with things. Was skinning a deer when a bear appeared out of nowhere, I have the perk that shows health bars so I knew the area should have been safe. Anyway, nearly killed the bear when the previously clear area spawned in a pack of 3 wolves to deal with as well as the bear.
Not sure if it's just dodgy code overcompensating or the devs trying to artificially ramp up the hardness level to increase challenge. Either way, my patience is wearing thin and I'm pretty sure it always wasn't like this.
