stuck at Preparing geometry loading screen

my game stuck at the preparing geometry loading screen while joining my friends host server. retried many times, got in but it loads half the screen of the map and gone back to the preparing geometry loading screen. pls help

Try hosting it then it should work. Had that too at some point because i logged out in a bad spot.

When I host a game it works fine but gets stuck on geometry loading screen when joining the dedicated server

Do you have an antivirus? If yes, disable it and check the connection.

Did anyone sort this out as we had not played for awhile and we tried today and my friends stuck at preparing geometry screen. I see him in the player list and we have a wind storm at the moment and he hears the weather event but he can get loaded into the world. he had no issues last time we were playing.

I've heard that sometimes just hitting the WASD keys to move around unsticks you when stuck at preparing geometry. As you mentioned, he appears to already have joined the game. Hopefully it's that easy of a fix.
