Is there a point to higher tier tools?

So something I noticed is the multipliers for yield don't make much of a difference.
When using the titanium ax I got only 3-4 more wood then the stone ax(no perks).
Then with the pickax maybe a 1-2 difference between oxite(tested this with a friend)
I had a titanium pick with the 20% increase from perks while he had a iron pick with no perks.

Speed, Efficiency and those few extra you get really counts when you needs loads of Gold and Copper for missions requiring Tier 4 tech.

i just run workshop tools, they are about as effective as a t3 pick/axe anyway the only problem is you can't repair them like a normal tool but an help get you plat tools so you can skip steel tools

honestly, the hunting rifle is the only T4 that is worth the resources. I usually peak at Platinum but am perfectly fine at steel. I like aluminum arrows (and titanium) but they just are not worth the cost. I'd advise on most games to peak at Recurve with bone/flint arrows and steel or plat knife and pick. Axe really doesn't make enough difference to worry about unless you have extra resources. Even light, the weak torch does practically everything you need and is cheap and effective.

Will the basic workshop tools allow me to mine the higher tier ore, gold, alum, play titan and such?? The VERY first pickax you can buy from the work shop?

no the very first one is irontier pickaxe, second one up is steel and third one is plat.

every mission except one or two can easily be done with leather armor and bone tools/weapons. there presently isnt a real reason to build out a base or tech up. get in and out asap
