I agree, it's a great game. They need to make adjustments to the G slot. As you mentioned, the Radar and Extractor can't be carried solo together and there's another Geo mission where they give you two devices to take with you. Not a big deal for multiplayer, but for solo you have to go all the way back to get the other one. I'm hoping this is an oversight because if it's intended, what's the point? The game is already enough of a walking simulator, they really don't need to tack on more scenarios to make you walk more.
That's the downside of wanting or having to do the mission alone.
There are a lot of players who would love to team up. I onow 2 guys personally who own the game and have 3 other colleagues who don't own the game so i wrote some guys in the forum and here i am having 2 other regulars i met online, one more who comes a few times when family allows and another guy who has 3 buddies who would love to get a 8 man team together at least once for the experience.
The game is designed as it is and can be played better in groups but can be played solo, and not to annoy solo players. Sure you can adjust it but really not to cater solo players and make the game boring for team players.
Also one thing. Have you played in private only mode? Maybe that has another balance since nobody can join your prospect.
I just enjoy the challenge of solo play mostly and like to dictate my own pace. I log off an on so often to do other things that any potential team would probably be like WTF, where did he go? lol
Another thing is that I'm a minimalist. I get off the dropship, grap the minimum and go to the objective site. Some groups like to take their time and build up a lot of stuff that may or may not be necessary. That's not my style so I just go it alone. I do like to team up once in a while.
Referring to my above post, I actually just completed the mission without having to go back for the other beacon. I blame this a little on the devs for not fully detailing the missions as they should, allowing us to cheese a little. I'm sure the intent is to have both beacons in place at the same time to complete the objective. I could be wrong. But you can just take one beacon, build up to the sphere where it needs to be placed and it will check off the location objective. Then you can remove the beacon and all of the block foundations (or whatever you used to get that high), and go over to the other site and build it again. Half the work as likely intended but I'm happy. lol
I have not tried private only mode yet.
