Many talents useless, what's the point? Wood Breakdown etc
Many talents in the tree are completely useless. Example 'Wood Breakdown: Unlock the ability to wood into sticks'. Sounds good right? Wrong. In order to use this talent guess what you need, a house, crafting bench, stone furnace, anvil , and a carpentry bench.

Assuming you build the BARE minimum 1x1 shelter and pick up each crafting refining station after you are down with it you would need to build all these requirements:

Fiber 190
Wood 82
Sticks 22
Stone 102
Leather 20
rope 12
copper nails 120
iron ingot 40

This of course, is after spending 4 Talent points just to have the ability to turn WOOD into Sticks. Why is this talent even in the game? And if this is intended please add a note to the talent telling you its completely useless without an extensive setup.

Wood breakdown is a character recipe.

What is a "character recipe" and how does it differ from a Blueprint or a Talent?

With the talent, you need to also take the tech and then you can breakdown wood from your crafting screen. You don't need the carpentry bench. The wood breakdown from the carpentry bench is just that - a recipe you can do from the carpentry bench that does not require the talent.

As for the talent, it's not necessary but it can be handy for sure.

You can use carpenter wood->stick without it. But with the talent+blueprint from tech tree you can do it in your characters crafting inventory. defininitely useful especially in desert

Its not working for me. Never has. I have both leather to rope and wood to sticks talents unlocked in the tree and NONE of them work in my own inventory. I cannot use the talent.

You still have to unlock the recipe from your tech tree after purchasing that talent. Then you can craft in your bag.

You also need the blueprints.

The tech tree is tier 1, somewhere near the very end.

What? So I have to spend 4 Talent Points and an unspecified amount of Blueprint points to use the talent? I'll go look in the tech tree.

What in the actual frick kind of leveling system is this? How is it even possible to spend points on the talent and NOT BE TOLD that you have to, for some inexplicable reason, spend MORE points in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tech tree? Have the people who created this game logged more than 30 minutes playing their own game?

They're just bad at design honestly. They refuse to do basic math (see: T4 costs and the 2 nerfs they've already had) and have latched onto a talent tree design lifted literally from original WoW in the early 2000s. You know, before WoW updated their talent trees because the universal feedback was that tiny percentages to things (2% to knife damage! +3% move speed while doing this super specific thing!) is the most boring ♥♥♥♥ imaginable.
