Possible to dodge wolf attack?

I am somewhat new to the game. I am on the 2nd mission where you have survey 3 areas. On the 2nd area 5 wolves spawned and killed me. Fighting 1 wolf seems fine but i have never been able to dodge one of their attacks even while running away side to side or strafing while fighting it head on. Any tricks to dodging their attacks?

Weirdly going straight at them at speed is the best bet. Same with bears. That said for wolves its better just to time a knife stab or bow shot as they charge. Bone knife or higher will one shot them with that method.

I would go to the nearest rock possible which you can jump on, crouch, take your knife, and slash at them. Wolves have a very difficult time climbing rocks so your good to go.

As you travel, always keep an eye out for rocks you can climb, and rocks you can use to get yourself out of the storms.

One more thing about wolves in this game. They do have a tendency to spawn right around you (still a bug). My friend had one spawn almost on top of him while he was harvesting a deer.

In case anyone that still want to do this prospect, activate the thing run away a bit stealth and wait until they are done attacking the radar, they will wander off and you can pick them off one at the time with a bow.
(same for the other 2 places)
