How do you light caves?
Wonder how people are lighting caves. Or nightime come to that.
Not on tech level 4 so don't have any electrtic stuff yet and working with torches.
Tried to place the tiki torches but they are a bit of a pain to work with and light radius is very small. With pain to work with I mean you have to hold key to add fuel which takes quite long. But with hand held torches you always put them away when mining and end up in pitch black darkness. Or do you just drop a couple of the hand held ones on the ground?

The best way is to put fire on your friends, sadly there is water too.
Just set brightness to max like in Minecraft still a good way...(with a hand torch of course)

I'm not sure if its in the game yet, but your suit should have a light at some point. Maybe a workshop upgrade. I saw in the keybinds that L toggles suit light. But until then, just drop a torch/lantern on the ground.

Yes, I just drop a torch near a node. Somewhere I don't need to stand, torch will not roll away, and as I mine the light will expand over the node(mine away from the light without standing in front of the light).

Just be careful, you can easily light yourself on fire when they are on the ground. Oh and if you get too used to dropping them on the ground you might drop one in your base. The results can be unfortunate...

yeah. i dropped a torch and lit myself, run out to the water and ignited the whole forest, which also burnt down my woodenhouse. i then restarted. i should better skip the torch part and wait for electrical lights. :-)

Use floor standing torches.

Once you have a line of them and the cave is pretty lit up, the cave worms stop spawning as well.

My brother can actually see just fine in any cave as soon as we enter into it, while me, I can' see anything, it is pitch black. I do not know if there a setting in game that can help you see things better or not, or what might effect those settings?

Was looging for a gamma setting like almost any other game has but don't see any in graphic settings.
