Edit: I use Epic graphics settings with 4K resolution
It's awful how new GPUs are dying and that they're dying in this GPU market.
I would activate dlss quality in any case, brings very many fps and looks good.
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
Memory: 128GB DDR4 3200MHz
Graphics Card: ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3090 24GB
PSA for EVERYONE:
CAP YOUR FPS AT THE DRIVER LEVEL and never worry about this problem. I played new world beta for many hours with my Evga3090ftw3 without problems. I don't even worry about it. Maybe there is a problem with the cards and they shouldn't allow themselves to blow up when running at 1000fps, but if you cap the fps, it fixes the damn problem. There is no downside whatsoever to doing this.
We believe New World's game engine inadvertently stumbled upon some code sequence that allows certain Ampere cards to draw more power than they should. This would explain why only a handful of cards are dying from New World.
Thats quoted from amazon.
Its more then true. For one is the fact that GPUs by no means should fry themselves over a demanding game. For one they have limiters which would kick in on the moment your card is already overwhelmed. Its same safety backup as if you would try to overclock it too hasty.
Second thing to be noticed is that. On early new world stage the gpus had issues with fan control units and ran some insane numbers. It wasnt a huge batch of em but not a small eitherway.
Its more then likely that OPs gpu is being defect case here by default.
