If he rejoins before you complete the mission (you leave with Mission Complete) he will get the exp and rewards.
You would have to finish that mission first unless you have another character to do another mission with. That is why I like having 2 characters, even better now with the new solo talent points and the respec.
REALLY!! wow that's awesome.
Your friend joins.
If you have to leave, as "host", when you leave, everyone else gets kicked out.
However, they can immediately rejoin, and now they are "host".
Your friend then plays madly through the weekend, and you join him/her off and on, but ultimately, your friend finishes the mission while you are offline.
As long as your friend waits until you log in and also get the "mission complete" message (meaning, he doesn't evac out... you both log in, and you get the credit), you both get the mission rewards.
Not sure what happens if s/he completes and evacs without you. In my group, we've always made sure everyone got the complete and evacs out with it and gets the reward.
EDIT:
NOTE:
I do not believe your friend can join your mission that you started, unless you are actively in. Meaning, if you start a mission, and log out before s/he can join, s/he cannot join until you are online, in the mission.
I think this all makes sense. I appreciate it TY !!
