Firepit vs Campfire

The firepits description says "swift" cooking but takes 60 seconds to cook one piece of meat, just like the campfire. Just an upgrade to hold more slots then? Not even a slight speed increase to cooking?

Nope, its completely useless in its current form, hell even the graphic of it cooking shows 4 pieces of meat over the fire, yet one only cooks at a time.

Firepit is one of those "point traps" (a place you spend a point that it is worthless to do so).

It's basically just a larger area where you can set yourself on fire, to increase the risk of setting your building on fire.

Nope, it doesn't protect you from that. Only the big oven is protected from fire mishaps.

Oh, and it looks nicer, if that's more important than fire safety...

Def a false sense of hope to cook a lot of meat. Yah, better to toss down 2 or 3 campfires, it would seem.

I use the fire pits for cheap storage I can craft anywhere. But it would be nice if they'd at least cook 2 things at once or something. Same for fireplaces

with the mats to construct the firepit you could build almost 4 campfires. thats a tonne of storage. The visual animation shows multiple steaks being cooked but only one pops out. Atleast the concept is there....lol

The one advantage of a firepit is that it does not seem to light wood structures on fire, whereas the campfire has a tendency to do just that.

whats nice about the Firepit is you don't accidentally walk into it because of the raised barrier around it and consequently burn your house down because of it.

I think the fire pit throws off more heat as well? Before I got the Naneo armor I'd carry a fireplace with me for arctic missions, when once I took a fire pit and iirc it was warming me faster.

From the wiki: The Firepit is an upgrade to the Campfire, providing significantly more heat. Due to the increased weight of the firepit, it should only be deployed in structures that provide adequate support.
