can we get a another use for leather and fur
after tier 2 technology leather and fur become nearly useless. if i am gonna kill animals for meat already i feel like fur and leather should be useful some how.

they should BOTH be useable for Bio Fuel

Should be making flint arrows, super strong early game and cost leather. As for fur, yeah it's pointless haha. Less you make fur armour.

Actually if they introduced armor damage you will need all the leather and fur you can get.

Make rope from the armourers bench destroy then rinse and repeat plenty of useless high XP right there...

This is a good idea, makes them useful.

make the curtains for the doors and windows. i like them better than the actual doors. it at least makes use of them so you dont stockpile so many

+1 to this old thread. Can we recycle fur to biofuel somehow. I know we can make some fur armor and maybe some decorations (whoopie) but it doesn't take long before it is fairly useless. Feels dumb to be survival mode and throwing things away.

We could make carpets with the fur :)

This. I absolutely want to be able to turn Fur into Biofuel, even if it consumes fur at like 25 per tick of the can. Once we have fer armor set up and some good beds, the fur starts to pile up obnoxiously. I use the Leather for making arrows and various structures, but Fur is far too plentiful.
At the moment, I'm getting to the point where I'm just destroying them... I think biofuel or a sap ramplacement is a good option, maybe some type of animal fat or oil?

I agree. I have a large iron cabinet (whatever it's called, 50+ stacks) of leather, I'm just destroying whatever I get, now. You have to fully skin the animal to get additional bone to make epoxy, so you're left with excess leather. I used to run a trap line IRL, you can't tell me we can't use that for biofuel, or some other purpose?

Turn the leather into rope at the tailoring bench for free XP, then destroy the rope to turn it into fiber. Fiber goes into biofuel.

You can also turn that leather and fiber into leather armor and destroy it and repeat as you like for XP until you're out of material.

Fur and tree sap make a compressed fuel brick which burns longer than wood. Can run your forges with it instead of coal or wood.

For both you can also craft the fur, leather, and rope (from leather) into fur armor for XP and just destroy it and repeat as you like until you're out of material.

Or just don't pick it up? Dropping it on the ground is quicker than hitting destroy and it deteriorates fast enough.

And a protip: stop relying on bone for epoxy. The sulfur and tree sap recipe is faster to get you what you need. The bone recipes is fine to get rid of your excess bones but don't waste your time hunting for epoxy.

If you're in Prometheus the Miasmic Axe on a tree makes lots of infected bark. Infected bark run through the organic residue cleanser is five epoxy per bark. You'll run out of storage for epoxy.
