What do the maps look like, when the game is finished?
Since the game is not giving you the opportunity to make a permanently home base, but instead forces you to restart the map on every new mission, one would think that they give us VERY different kinds of planets/biomes, or at least LOTS of different maps (possibly randomly created on the same kind of biome) to give us the impression of a new planet, so we can mine out all of it's ressources for good.

But in the beta WEs we have the same map, all around. Like it is the case in the, per example, very nice Satisfactory. How does having the same map on every mission fit with the narrative of a big, new planet, unexplored and fresh?

Don't get me wrong, guys. Aside from the game being pretty EA and pretty unbalanced/unfair when it goes about solo play, I really like the game. But I don't see me, making the sacrify of not being able to make permanent bases/settlement, when there isn't even the point of newly, explorable maps in the game.

This is a game about exploration and making use of those fresh, new ressources, isn't it?
How can that be, if we all restart, everytime, on the same map (only on different starting points)?

Then I see the "gold versions" of the game (costing a quadruple of the price I paid for, to be honest) and they get 2 additional maps? If not this information, then what else makes it doubtable, that there will be much more on explorable places than we now see in the beta weekends?

For the 20 bucks I paid for the beta, the map is sufficient. But for 3-4 times the money? I am glad, I did not pay that gold version of it. We will see. We will see.

What are your thoughts about it? Please, hesitate to defend the developers against whatever or from trying to defeat them, no matter what, with your words. Clearly, the game is made with - at least - SOME PASSION, so be constructive about your comments.
I would truly appreciate that. :meadowlovebadger:

I agree, I cant imagine how the Devs are going to maintain a high enough level of
re-playability to keep everyone coming back for more when every time we come back its to the same map. I will say however that the map is pretty big and I very much enjoy the leveling and point system. But that will only last so long before you unlock everything. They need to think of the long run. For you personally, imagining you're level is maxed out and you have everything you could ever want, what is going to keep you coming back for more? One thing I thought of that would keep my attention are hunts. Imagine being sent down to hunt down and catch a rare mutated breed of wolf or deer. Every time you hit it with a tranquilizer it quickly runs to a different random section of the map. That would force the players to traverse every corner of the map to complete the mission. It would also make vehicles a must. But even so that type of mission might only attract a small amount players. The devs will definitely have to come up with multiple types of missions to keep our interest.

Another thing to think about is the amount of hours it will take the average player to level up and unlock everything. A good $60 in my opinion should last a good 60-80 hours or more to complete. Maybe it'll take that long to unlock everything.

yeah like already said, there will only be 1 map called Olympus in the game (more in the dlcs), you can check it out here :

https://icarusintel.com/

If you want to build a permanent base, you will be able to do that in your Outpost (1x Outpost Standard Version, 3x Outposts Deluxe Version)
