It almost does the trick but weapons/tolls are too zoomed in.

it's not distorted but for widescreen it is equivalent to render at 16:9 and cut top and bottom to fit the widescreen resolution. So you lose a lot of vertical vision. In 32:9 we lose around 40% ....
Try the game in 16:9, make a screenshot (DONT MOVE) then switch to 21:9 and make a new screenshot and look at the difference.
Playing in widescreen in icarus is like playing with a helmet, which has a rectangle for vision, on.
It really depends. I have tried the trick above and it looks rather weird to be because i am not used to it.

Dev's got in and promised fix's, looked good in the forums made as many sales as possible then ditch.
I refunded my game and then purchased again believing the dev's BS.
Now I am angry (yes also at my self) not just at the developers,
who obviously do not care that they are known as incompetent lairs. Who troll their customers with bad products (I have not played DayZ but there seems to be some dissatisfaction with Dean Hall over the game not being finished YIKES..... Wish I had known this b4)

I have now spent some hours playing and it is possible to play with the community work around but it is NOT perfect and requires that the game dev's do a little tweeking
I do not see why I should be forced to pay a 3rd party such as HaYDeN to fix this so we can all play.
The dev's should properly support their product
Shame this seem's like a good game apart from this

what are you "waiting" for? My friends and I have been playing the game flawlessly in ultra-wide since we got it.. is there some other weird configuration you are waiting for?
This is one of the weirdest and most uninformed posts i have ever read. Wow.
Either way its a shame, 4k is not a gimmick; it is next level. And it looks good.
The new thing is going to be 1440P then maybe in a couple years or a decade 4K.
Then sorry to tell you that but you and your friends are blind or ignorant :D You have a cropped image in ultrawide, you are losing 40% of vertical image lul
I dunno man, most of the people I play with use 4k now and have for a while. But Im an old guy (In my 40s) and so are the people I run with... so I guess we have more play money than most gamers... I think the "stereotypical gamer" is a younger 20 something guy right? Seems reasonable I guess.
But my point wasnt about HD being in high circulation it was that 4k certainly isnt gimiky in its current form. In its initial form when it launched on TVs? Sure it was, I'd even go a step further and say it was predatory and gimmiky.
But now, today? Naw man, its solid tech.
