That GPU is from 2019. Absolutely no one with a brain refers to a 2019 GPU as "older".
If you think the age of the GPU is the only factor you are going to be mind blown by this.
A GTX 1080ti came out in 2017 and is up to 90% faster than a 1660ti. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY3GMQ-viA0
The fact that you cite Ark is hilarious. That game looks terrible for how it runs. I don't know a single person in my personal circle that brings up that game when amazing graphics comes up. A 1660ti can run almost any game out now at over 60FPS 1080p at highest settings.
This game however will be absolutely forgotten by the end of the year, like every other Rocketwerkz game before it (none of them are well known, like at all). Hell I've not even heard about this game before today. I don't sub to discussions, so this a pump and dump. Cheers.
Speak for yourself. It's a huge difference. I guess some people don't have the ability to tell the difference? 30 fps looks terrible to me and I struggle to play games with such a low framerate.
One should first seek to understand the topic before engaging in discussion. You don't even understand the basic concepts.
I'm sorry mate, but I'm going to have to completely disagree with you here. The difference between 30 and 60 FPS is instantly noticeable to someone who is used to 60+. It's not something you have to "really try and test and focus on" to notice it. I've been gaming on PC for most of my life and I always keep a Playstation around for their exclusives. It always take some time to get used to 30FPS again when I go from PC gaming to console gaming. Which is why I'm glad that so many games on the new consoles target 60fps.
What's more, PC gamers are more and more moving away from 60fps. It's become normal for people to play at 100+ FPS in many types of games (especially shooters) with 144fps being the gold standard. Playing a game like Escape from Tarkov feels like you're at a disadvantage at 60fps, I really can't imagine trying to play it at 30.
You say this like it's a "gotcha!", but some movies do genuinely feel awful because of the FPS, especially in action scenes. A common complaint many people have is that in some movies they can't follow what's happening in the action scenes. This is because the producers didn't compensate for the fact that their movie is only running at 24fps.
I'd be very happy to see higher framerates in movies and all the people complaining about it looking "weird" just need to get used to the new framerate.
That's sensible. Also, props for the other good example with the screen resolution that I completely agree with. To reach their own as they say.
I never could play at 30 fps . That's why I don't own a console.
Release date February 22, 2019...
As of last beta test weekend, I finally made the upgrade to a 3060ti and it was amazing.. both performance and visual. Can't say anything less, fluid at about 80fps, maxed settings. There were two spikes that occurred that I did note, pushing gpu to 100%, which I have a hunch were due to the top-down map loading-in bugs. Other then that... huge difference in gameplay just with the luxury of better appeal/visual graphics being completely fluid.
I don't do any of this fancy 4k stuff.. just 1080 gaming. But its clear that this game really utilizes the newer RTX hardware. Either way, both cards ran it well enough to be playable in my case. 10700k w/ ssd being the base for installation.
