price differences between countrys
Why is this game so damn expensive in Switzerland? almost 5€ more than Germany or Austria without any reason.
Most ppl in Switzerland DON'T have more money then ppl in other countrys. And the rich ppl who does, don't playing Games on Stream...

In Turkey game price 50 TL, its mean 5€. and in Turkey min. wage is 280€. and almost %50 ppl are working for min. wage. This is in Turkey how its goes, if its help for your topic.

that's just wrong.
If you don't know how economy and salary work, don't think about it or even try to tell ppl about it which actually live here.
And how much do people earn in your experience?
Could be based on current exchange rates from 1 country to another.

exchange rates are 1Chf : 0.92 €
Taxes are even lower for Games then in Germany/Austria.

It is about 4'300 without deductions like taxes, insurances, additional wage costs.
In addition, the cost of living is 2-5 times higher than in the rest of Europe.
Furthermore, there are compulsory insurances that are all privatized.
As already said, if you have no idea, better say nothing.

In addition, 20% of the inhabitants earn more than 3 times the normal wage in Switzerland. This distorts the average wages massively.

but since everyone is healthy and fit, everyone works in their ideal job with a salary that covers all costs and still leaves something for other expenses, it should not be a problem.
There is also no worldwide pandemic that has destroyed a large part of the jobs and has made millions of people unemployed and without prospect of new employment.

And of course, such a puny troll like you also knows the work, financial and personal situation of each person in whose conservation you interfere.

Haha. Alright, buddy.
Hey everyone, please try to be respectful when talking about topics such as this. There are median earnings in each country, but there are still those that earn more or less than that.

I might be wrong but I believe we put in our price for Icarus in USD and let Valve's pricing tool calculate all other foreign market prices. Their tool is what most developers use and is recommended.

This tool then works horribly wrong.

regular price is $29.99 with actual 10% discount at $26.99
that should be
around 27.05 Swiss franc at regular price and 24.34 CHF with 10% discount
but it is 30 at Full price and 27 with discount.
buying it in € would be way cheaper, or even in $

I can't imagine that the publishers don't know that Steam doesn't use real exchange rates, but instead passes on massive markups to the customers.

The tool is common industry practice, but your concerns are heard! For now, this is unlikely to be changing, but if it ever does we'll be sure to let the community know!

I can understand your problem but regional pricing that steam and epic like some global store fronts uses arent just about exchange rates its more about for the given product how much people can afford or willing to pay for that particular region. But ofcourse no system can be perfect and sometimes there will be some mark up or mark down outside of norms. also this system is one of the biggest reasons why people can afford to buy games (rather than pirating) in vast regions of the world.
Don't buy it from steam is the only solution, the price on steam is usually more than an online retailer who sell you a digital version to use on steam.

yeah
good idea when steam is the only legal seller of a game...

Steam allows affiliates which sell games on their part and gives them the key to pass on , a typical example of this is humble bundle who or are a charity that sells steam games.
