Love playing Empress but her mobility is lacking
If Empress could use a Dash while mid-air, a dodge, or something she would have been more fun to play.. or even all characters could use a double jump maybe ? I'm dying a lot trying to avoid ennemy's or Boss attacks, its near impossible, really. I think there is some accessory to increase jump height but i don't know much about it, but for now Empress is lacking mobility. Your thoughts ??

If you want mobility as Empress, use a Short Sword instead of a regular sword.

Being able to cancel Dragon Slash in midair makes Empress very mobile in the air, and using Dragon Shot at any point boosts you backwards, which you can use to access some items only the Shinobi can.

Not only that, but the Y attack the Short Sword can use allows you to dash right through particularly troublesome attacks, like if you're on the wrong end of an Ogre flamebreath and you don't feel confident using Dragon Slash to duck underneath it, you can simply thrust past him and attack his back. Empress is very, very mobile, but getting past the level 60+ missions really requires you to learn each boss' patterns inside and out.

@Knight_ Going back to the Empress though and being more direct, Mistress Spitfire original advice is right on the money.

If you want more mobility, even if you don't intend to use a Short Sword for fighting, keep one in the secondary weapon slot for the options (like firing multiple air shots to simulate an air dash backwards or A+X+R1+A off an enemy to simulate a double jump). It may sound a bit convoluted but it's easier than it sounds in practice.

how do you get a short sword that has different combos for the empress?
Short swords were intended as Bandit weapons, but Empress can also use them. Not only are they both used by Bandit and Empress, you'll notice the icon of the weapon will be a much thinner sword compared to Empress' normal sword. While the short swords are decently damaging and have good mobility, they often lack any vit compared to regular swords, making them a mildly risky choice, but both the swords and short swords have their ups and downs.

Nice! you are right she has other combos with that sword and can reach places way up, do you know if you can switch quiclky between the two swords or you always have open the menu-equipment?

Nice! you are right that actually works you can map the shortcuts to the dpad to change very quickly between the 2 kind of swords with the Empress and have better mobility and more combos, awesome. I think if I remap the right stick to the dpad the weapon switching would be even quicker, thanks.

- Okay thank you ! But Shortsword is less stronger so i created a macro to switch between both Weapons. So that said... should i still invest in AGI/STR or if Shortsword is less stronger maybe i should invest in PIE instead ? Opinions ? Your Build ?

I tend to swap between a STR/AGI mix and PIE depending on what I'm doing, but both options are good. If you want to go Piety for damage take her Wind or Ice contract for big magic damage, Ice is stronger for pure damage but the range makes her a tad weaker.

short sword deal less damage but the maximum hit ( agi base ) is 2 more than the normal sword

and both build are good

and while lightning contract dont pull off the best damage it is very easy to hit with it even very far away from the monster , easy to hit enemy that are at wierd angle , in the air or moving. plus the paralyse effect is free damage and a good break to heal on boss
