Compiling Campanella 2 Items and their Effects
I'd like to put together a guide for Campanella 2's items so those just getting into it have a reference for what they all do. Any info on the various items would be of use.

My current progress as of stopping playing for the night, (i) indicates that I have an image for the item in question.

Fuel Drop - 500 Fuel Pickup
Pink Orb (i) - Health Pick Up (Full Heal?)
Heart Plus (i) - +2 Max Health
Fuel Plus - +25% Max Fuel
Coin Up (i) - Increased Coin Drop Rate
Key (i) - Collectible used for ???

Red Bullet with Coin Above (i) - First shot of a button press is more powerful and costs 1 coin.

Blue Scroll - Collectable/Key Item has to do with "Sage of the Icerink"

it's not a full heal, but it is +5 health so that's often the same thing. I think it's supposed to be bubble gum based off of dialog from an npc in a room that only sold the health refill and max HP up

Thanks, I couldn't quite tell. I think I was at 3 health when I picked it up and got +5. Also Bubblegum makes sense, it does look it. The lil tail in the bottom right of the icon threw me.

Small Fuel Drop - 200 Fuel
Large Fuel Drop - 500 Fuel
Pink Orb (i) - Health Pick Up (+5)
Heart Plus (i) - +2 Max Health
Fuel Plus - Fairly sure it's +200 Max Fuel. I never take it.
Coin Up (i) - Increased Coin Drop Rate
Key (i) - Can open a locked door, which nets a choice of free upgrades.

Green blob with a skull under - Each enemy killed by the spaceship nets you 100 Fuel. One of the best upgrade by far.

Crucifix - Not sure, I believe it delays or de-spawn the invincible skull in 2D sections.

Ring of Friendship - Press jump while in the air as the pilot on the "overworld" and you'll immediately board your ship at this location. Incredibly useful.

Red Bullet with Coin Above (i) - First shot of a button press is more powerful and costs 1 coin.

Blue Scrolls - Key Items related to the Cherry achievement. Follow their instructions!

just some random stuff and min-max I discovered:
The light green wall solid blocks can be hit for some coins;
Some enemies spawn as "golden champions", they are more dangerous but drop more coins, the pink stack can instead be yellow and shoot bullets when destroyed, and the golden wall turret shoots triple bullets;
You can bunch up many enemies near barrels before exploding it, as everything will drop coins at the explosion;
When you get all the 10 stars, the yellow circles you go through give you not only 200 fuel but pauses the timer for a couple os seconds;
At the floating enemies room (that spawn all at the same time), you can collect all coins at the end by positioning yourself at the top left, getting half the coins, then to the botton right to collect the rest

Regarding the cross/talisman item, one of the "gods" that you encounter behind the red doors says "the talisman guards against ghastly visitors," which sounds like it might be referring to the giant skull that chases you during the platforming stages. But even when I have the talisman, the skull still shows up, and it doesn't seem to be any slower.

Other items I've encountered...
(Updated based on information from PlantMurderer in below post.)
Compass = Points the way to the exit door (even before triggering the escape sequence), and also points the way to open shops on the stage.
Magnet = Nearby stars are pulled toward your saucer.
Armor = Haven't been able to afford this, yet. I think someone in another thread said it reduces damage to Isabelle (not the saucer) by 50%.
Wing Boots = In the platforming stages, allows you float down slowly by holding the jump button. (Unfortunately it doesn't work while on-foot in the saucer stages.)
Coin Purse = 200 coins. Shows up as a reward after the platforming stages sometimes. Looks like a big coin with a dark blue border.
Saucer weapon upgrades...
Missile = Saucer shoots a slow-moving seeking missile (like the ones the skull turrets shoot).
Laser = Saucer shoots a fast-moving laser at a 45 degree angle that bounces off walls. Seems pretty good since you can rapid fire it.
Double Swipe = Saucer swipes behind you as well as in front.
Swipe Shot = When you swipe, you also shoot a small blast of energy that has a little more range than the swipe itself.
Gun upgrades...
Split Shot = Fires two short-range blasts at an angle, in addition to your normal shots.
Crawler Shots = Shots split into two projectiles that stick to floors, walls, and ceilings, and "crawl" along them until they hit something.
Double Laser = Might do more damage, and I think it can shoot through walls that the default gun can't?

[COMPASS]
also points to the "Blue Door" when one spawns in the level.

[MAGNET]
is a dangerous upgrade that pulls Star Fragments from afar to your character.
Useful if all you're looking for is to clear the act as quickly as possible, but a major hindrance if you're trying to find the Sage or the shop before collecting the 10 fragments.

[CAMPANELLA UPGRADES]
no need to double tap, no clue how that notion infiltrated your mind.

I don't think anyone else mentioned this, but if you don't use your key on Stage 2 for the free item, on Stage 3 Act 1 there's a locked door that leads to a shortcut directly to Stage 4.

Oh wow, never heard of that.
Does it work in both versions of Stage 3?

I only did it once on the top choice, not sure about Gut/Temple honestly.
There's also one upgrade that seems like a pill with a dotted trail, it's a missle that shoots down and homes in a little when you attack with the campanella
