Okay maybe I'm stupid but what the hell with the last boss?

It's without fail anymore since the last update that I get to the final boss and just can't get through it. I've had crazy builds and he's just destroying them. I usually am able to get through the priest without too much of an issue and get to the final boss with about 60% of my health and my second life and he just eats through them. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as it's literally every time. Before the update I had 2 clears out of 3 time getting there, Since I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 0 for 7 he's ended all my runs. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but any pointers as he's apparently the easiest boss ever according to every other thread here would be appreciated

He's the easiest boss? I thought it's the hardest ♥♥♥♥♥ ever lol, totally fitting for being the final boss. Either spam attacks that make you invincible or pick skulls that can still deal damage while minding your own business and dodging for your life, like alchemist, carleon commander etc. That said I myself hadn't been able to defeat him without these strategies rip

I'm thinking he's significantly harder if you're not running a build that allows you to take advantage of swapping buffs. I was as tanky as can be last night with a Legendary ENT, melted Joan like butter, but against the last boss, I made it halfway through phase two before I was quickened. I was satisfied with the result because I like a challenge, and that's when it occurred to me that some properly timed swaps would've made the difference.

Honestly it's a bit of everything. His timing doesn't really allow for many spam attacks from what I've seen. I'm fine dodging his ultimate where he doesn't take damage. But like I just got there with a destroyer and prisoner skul and he absolutely destroyed me. The gold phase is the most problematic especially when he puts up the 2 walls and traps you in about an 8 foot box. I've also not found a decent way to attack him during the golden phase without taking significant damage.

Yeah I don't think I've beaten him with a physical style skull yet due to this. I cleared him with the lich/shield and reaper/alchemist before the patch.

Beating him with power skulls is pain his hitboxes are so big even if you dash he still hits you with his next attacks because you cant dash far enough

i agree that he is crazy strong, and i defeaded him only once, with a stupid op build that let me to be basically perma invulnerable to dmg while dmging him(i love to make such builds in games and laugh at the strongest enemy face that he is ♥♥♥♥ and cannot dmg me) he got A LOT of diffrent attacks and diffrent patterns, he is also really quick, got 3 stages(tho last one is easier than first boss xD), compared to the previous boss he is like 10 times harder and u are not really having any chances to get any stronger, no sense to me

okay thought it was just me. It's just frustrating for a 30-45 minute run to end in defeat and it doesn't feel like I'm learning anything as his timing is so fast that it's just burn him down faster or your going to lose
